I've had a sudden increase in vertigo, and I'm not sure of the cause. This is the intense, "I don't know which way is up" kind of vertigo, and has caused a few falls lately.

One episode happened while swimming, which was a bit frightening in the water.

About three - four weeks ago I started Biaxin and Bactrim for bart, so maybe that has stirred something up, or could this be a side effect of one of those drugs?

I've had vertigo problems for years, but they seemed to have settled down with treatment, and some specific exercises the ENT had prescribed for vestibular rehab.

It seems strange that it is suddenly rearing it's head again now. Any ideas about what causes a sudden, severe increase in vertigo?

Sorry to hear this and could it be your recent cold/crud was partly in your ears?

I would ask your pharmacist about both those drugs. I sometimes get more and better med info from them then I do my doctors.

I would also tell your LLMD about your vertigo.

I hope it leaves soon.

Have you ever been tested for babs? I had horrible vertigo during my acute babs stage.

Have you seen a cardiologist?

Many cardio symptoms can also be related to vertigo.

I think sometimes we are so taken up with our TBD diagnosis, we miss other illnesses.

I would make sure there is nothing else wrong, and then I would contact my llmd.

Feel better.

Hi guys, thanks for your thoughts on this!

Vanilla, I'll ask the pharmacist - good idea. Don't know if it's the cold thing, the vertigo started about 2 weeks after the cold, but who knows.

Savebabe, I've had several babs relapses, so it could be that again. I just can't tell.

It's been a while since I've seen a cardiologist. I have MVP, since I was 12, maybe it could be that? I tend to forget about that because I've lived with it for so long.

A few bouts of the vertigo today already. Kinda feels like being on the Titanic.
