Was rx'd Allegra by LLMD and I also need to take Diflucan. Checked drugs.com and says minor drug-drug reaction (rases level of the allegra/fexofenadine).

Somewhere else it said do not take Diflucan with TER-fenadine - now is that like FEXO-fenadine?

I need to be able to take an antihistamine at the same time as the Diflucan but I think Loratidine can cause heart rhythm problems with it.

Any suggestions?

My husband, son, and I take Allegra & Diflucan.

I checked Drug Digest and the only reaction is with Allegra and grapefruit juice:

FEXOFENADINE (in Allegra) may interact with GRAPEFRUIT JUICE

Grapefruit juice can decrease the absorption of fexofenadine from the stomach into the bloodstream. This could make fexofenadine less effective. To avoid this interaction, take fexofenadine with water or liquids other than fruit juices. Do not take fexofenadine with grapefruit juice or grapefruit itself. Also avoid taking fexofenadine with apple juice and orange juice. Discuss this potential interaction with your healthcare provider at your next appointment, or sooner if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered minor in severity.

OK, thank you both.

When I previously took Loratidine and Diflucan and asked the two local pharmacies (a year or two ago) I got two different answers. One said do not take together, the other said OK. But, I agree, good idea to check with pharmacist also.

I checked for interactions between Diflucan & Loratadine:

No interactions were found for the drugs you selected.
