(I wasn't sure which flash discussion to put this under; sorry if it's not the right place for it.)

Hi all. I'm not quite a newbie- have been around here for a few months, but have yet to officially introduce myself like a proper young lady.

Lymie specs:

Tick removed from upper left shoulder/neck June 2006. Deer nymph. Suspected it was there for at least 2 days. (No, I didn't save it. Knowing what I know now- yes, dumb not to have done so)

First symptom- visably crazy-swollen lymph node on left side of neck 3 days later

GP put me on doxy. Had an "allergic" reaction (now I think maybe herx, maybe not) and said that there was nothing else I could take, that is was "just prophylactic anyway". Grrrr.

Second- knee and ankle pain the following month
GP agreed to amoxy.

Started seeing an ID.
Went on ceftin
Then ceftin and amoxy combo
Then bicillin shots

Third- facial and extremity numbness on right side

Fourth- MAJOR, incapacitating headaches

Got a PICC line w/ ceftriaxone in Oct 2006. Had to stop one week early b/c of blood clots around PICC.

Ceftriaxone got rid of headaches for a few months.

Next: flagyl then tinnidazole. I love them!
Started to get neuropathies from tinni, and also from flagyl when I re-tried it, so my LLMD, who I just started seeing recently, took me off.

I tested postive for Babesia (W1 spp.) and just started Zith a cople of weeks ago, and Mepron a few days ago. Trying to work up slowly to a full dose with Mepron b/c the Zith kicks my stomach and intestines around pretty good.

I also tested positive for one band of Bb.

I have pretty severe asthma and am trying my best to stay off prednisone. I've had very frequent tapering doses of it over the last few years.

With outstretched arms, I want to thank you for being here. I have found so MUCH information on this board. And some very, very kind people. The kindest bunch of wonderful hooligans ever.

Hi Dawn,

I'm a fellow Virginian here. I was rebit (2nd known infection) on 5/12/07 and was very sick within 48 hrs. Had been doing really well prior to this bite.

Now I have Babs W1 also. The doctor rolled her eyes when she saw my positive test. She said this form of babs is supposed to be out west (W stands for Washington State) but that she sees a lot of people in our area with it.

I have two suggestions for your asthma.

1-ALJ by Nature's Sunshine. It is a combo of 4 herbs that are very safe to take. It knocked my asthma right out of me 5 yrs ago and it has never returned. I felt a huge difference within 3 days. Like lifting a cement block off of my chest. I stayed on the herb for 2 yrs. I was scared to quit. Finally, I just got busy with life and forgot to take it. I haven't taken any for 4 yrs and still no asthma. It supports the bronchial tubes.

2-Garlic Juice. I only just began this recipe myself so can't give any first hand testimony. I am taking it to help my body and the antibiotics fight H. Pylori. Garlic has antiviral and antibacterial properties. Here is the recipe. It tastes really good and you can't taste the garlic. Make sure all ingredients are organic. You don't want to juice pesticides. The juice absorbs quickly into your bloodstream. You need a juicer for this. Blender won't do.

10-15 apples (I used Gala)
2 limes
1 teaspoon fresh ginger
1 bulb garlic

This makes a quart and I drank it in 4 doses in one day. I plan to drink this once a week.

Garlic is just simply good food. Unless you are on blood thinners. Garlic thins the blood.

As with anything, run this by your doctor to be sure no negative interactions with meds you are taking.

If you are close to Roanoke send me a PM. There are a bunch of us lymies here.

Thanks for the welcome wagon, everyone!

Luvs, thank you for the very helpful asthma info. I have been searching for a juicer on ebay lately, and your garlic juice recipe will amp up my bids.

Robi...goofball! [Razz]
