I had an ultrasound due to abdominal pain. My primary Dr.felt it was gallbladder related.
The ultrasound came back saying I had a slight amount of sludge in the neck of my gallbladder and a fatty liver.
I don't drink at all but when I got sick I lost 100 lbs in 10 months, 130 in 14 months. Could this be the cause of the fatty liver?
I faxed the test results to my LLMD and he told me to eat more protein?
Anyone else out there have this experience? Could the fatty liver be caused by 9 months of high dose antibiotics? Has anyone tried milk thistle to help? If so what brands are good?

Yes, I use it myself,
I have a fatty liver as well. No doctor has suggested any reason for this condition that I recall. Other than lack of exercise.
This is something that precedes diabetes onset.
Dr B recommends 175 mg three times daily-use an 80percent silymarin extract. Available from many
vitamin stores. A more potent product, available from Pharmanex, is called "Detox Formula".
Your situation sounds rather dire. If I were you I would definitely see a good llmd or someone more tuned to liver functions.

My liver appeared granular about 7 or 8 years ago - found it on a diagnostic laparoscopy, and since I didn't have cancer or hepatitis - who cares, right?
Liver enzymes went through the roof after only a few days of IV Rocephin. I had a 2mm liver lesion, too - of course, they weren't worried because it wasn't the size of a football yet.
My blood sugar was a little high a couple of months ago, too. Great. I give up. I will not live life as a diabetic because of my docs. I refuse.
