You need to get clear with your doc about how s/he'd like you to take it, but here is what my doc had me do:
1/4 tsp 3 times a day, stirred into 6oz of water and swished around in my mouth for a few minutes before swallowing. I drank the water quite slowly over several minutes, because of swishing before each swallow.
I took it on an empty stomach.
And I followed a yeast-restricted diet during the time I took it, and took probiotics 2 hours after the nystatin.
I did not take charcoal, but I was on cholestyramine at the time, which may have performed a similar function.

I don't understand the useage of Nystatin for yeast control. It appears to contain a sweetener, just the thing you don't want for the yeast. Unless I'm totally mistaken?

Even dentists recommend nystatin for the treatment of yeast mouth due to dry mouth caused by certain medications.

Billclo is right......DO NOT TAKE THE LIQUID FORM OF NYSTATIN. IT CONTAINS SUGAR!
Sick...I think you're supposed to begin with 4 tablets a day and work your way up to 16. Doc should have that all written out for you.

I cant even take 1/4 of a tablet.
One day however I did take 3 tabs.
Anyway after I take it my eyes get really heavy and I start to drift off. I then have to lay down and I usually have nightmares for about 2 hours. Then after I wake up I feel suicidal and have stabbing pains in my feet and feel hungover.
I think im just severelly sensitive to the toxins that it puts out when the yeast dies.
I cant explain it any other way and I do want to get better. Its just that its tough to work a job and continue with the treatment. So Ive been taking alot of probiotics and hoping that this will kill off some of the Candida and serve as a shield so that the toxins wont be so bad. Perhaps the probiots will eat up and digest some of the toxins, I dont know fully and there doesnt seem to be many people with a good answer these days.
