I finally had my appt. yesterday. Had blood work done, and depending on results, I may get a PICC line, or oral antibiotics. All an insurance issue. I already tested positive at my PCP, but LLMD wanted to retest, and also for coinfections. I'll be on eggshells for 2 weeks until my follow up appt. What a refreshing appt. finally someone believes me! Does this sound like a reasonable plan?

Ask your LLMD if a Groshong catheter might be better than a PICC for you. You'll likely have fewer complications and should be able to do the infusions yourself. Not only less expense... less hassle in your life.
Good Luck

I have a groshong catheter in my chest as well. It works out really well. We women have an advantage over the men, it sits right in our bra so we aren't taping it all the time.
It's very easy. I can't swim with it as per the vascular surgeon who put it in but I do my elliptical 3/4 days a week.
Hope all works out for you.
