After reading answers to Thomas' question about antibiotics, I'd like to know if there are a lot of people who are allergic to antibiotics.
I had an anaphylactic reaction to doxy(throat closing -- don't worry -- I try all new meds in the waiting room of an ER, where epinephrine is available if needed). And I seem to have reacted to every abx I've tried, except clindamycin. What does it mean that someone is allergic to so much?

Hi Robin123,
I don't know exactly what it means, but my guess would be leaky gut/mold, but it's just a guess.
I started having more and more reactions to abx, as I got older. I was down to only being able to tolerate one can't remember the name.
I was terrified of taking any abx and it was very hard when I had to take them after my bite and rash in 2001.
It will be interesting to see what others say.

I developed an allergy to penicillin and its derivatives after using it multiple times without incident. I had the throat closing thing, hives....It's in my "chart" now.

My understanding: if the system, the body, gets too toxic, it starts to rebel. The first are allergic reactions or showing its incompatibilities by other means (constipation, the opposite, aches here and there, tired, skin problems).
We have a wonderful body - that lets us know when it doesn't like what it is exposed to. Our Autonomic Nervous System lets us know - allergies, sniffles, rashes, stuffed, etc.
I turned allergic not only to antibiotics after a few months, but to literally everything else around me. Once I started to address the toxins, I got better and eventually well.
Take care.
Just sharing my experiences.
