So Dr. M in WI said that he's followed up on patients of his that

started treating their Lyme when I'm going to have (6 months after

catching it) years after their symptoms resolved, and the vast

majority of them never relapsed.

Could this possibly be true--I thought Lyme was incurable once

the bacteria had been disseminated.

Six months? I think you have an excellent chance! Do everything in your power to accomplish that!!

Men also seem to recover more quickly than women. No idea why.

Good luck and eat healthy, etc!! [Smile]

Don't worry.

I was first diagnosed with lyme in 1995. Was treated 6 mths and then went on my way. I had things going on after that but nothing that stopped my life. Migraines, neck stiffness, hearing loss, shortterm memory problems. Did the lyme remain or was I reinfected? I have no idea. Probably a little of both.

10 yrs later I became symptomatic with arthritis which went into fullblown rheumatoid arthritis.

My current rheumy is also ILADS LLMD. She said by the time you get this sick, it is always more than one thing.

I have been fighting to get cured for 2 yrs and I am doing very well. I changed my diet in Jan 06 and it made such a huge improvement I sought out a doctor who believed in Leaky Gut Syndrome. I found a wonderful CAM doctor and worked with him for a year identifying and healing just by supplementing and IVs of glutathione to reduce heavy metal toxicity. I thrived under his care and went from a high RA reading to a barely positive reading. I am certain I was heading for a full cure.

Then in 5/07, I was bit again and immediately became very sick so I found this ILADS LLMD Rheumatologist. I knew this was a new infection and felt abx were in order.

She found babs, EBV, QFever, H. Pylori and flat adrenals. I had just been treated for HP in 4/07, but dr says the standard tx of 2 weeks is not enough. She is combining abx and supplements. She says I will be cured from my RA because it is obviously infection driven, not genetic. Just clearing the HP has put me into full remission as far as symptoms go.

I'm doing better than ever, though I will be happiest when I get off these dang drugs. In the meantime, I am eating and juicing like a champion. Also rebounding and deep breathing 30 mins daily to remove the toxins from the drugs and bugs.

So glad you had your LLMD visit.

Initially, my LLMD and I thought (wrongly) that I had just contracted my Lme.

At that time, he thought I would be feeling like a new me in one year.

Now we both know that I have had this infection for an excess of 5 years.

Longer treatment time to get to remission.

Good luck.

Hugs,

Geneal
