I was originally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after 12 years of symptoms. I recently had a Western Blot at Labcorp, followed by a Titer and Western Blot at Igenex, which I just received back.
I saw my doc today who referred me to a LLMD. I am very excited!
Do you think my fibromyalgia symptoms will lessen with treatment? Or are my fibro symptoms really lyme?

A positive is a positive.
You most likely have lyme.

That's a very positive blot!
Absolutely -- though it may get much worse before getting better -- it WILL get better. Many here on LymeNet were misdiagnosed with fibro and chronic fatigue prior to lyme diagnosis. Good luck!!

Fibro is often a result of lyme. I agree with Michelle, fibro is a common misdiagnosis of lyme. It may take time to get better. Be sure to be evaluated for co-infections. They are very common.

"With most infections, your immune system first forms IgM antibodies, then in about 2 to 4 weeks, you see IgG antibodies. In some infections, IgG antibodies may be detectable for years.
Because Borrelia burgdorferi is a chronic persistent infection that may last for decades, you would think patients with chronic symptoms would have positive IgG Western blots.
But actually, more IgM blots are positive in chronic borreliosis than IgG. Every time Borrelia burgdorferi reproduces itself, it may stimulate the immune system to form new IgM antibodies.
Some patients have both IgG and IgM blots positive. But if either the IgG or IgM blot is positive, overall it is a positive result.
Response to antibiotics is the same if either is positive, or both. Some antibodies against the borrelia are given more significance if they are IgG versus IgM, or vice versa.
Since this is a chronic persistent infection, this does not make a lot of sense to me. A newly formed Borrelia burgdorferi should have the same antigen parts as the previous bacteria that produced it.
But anyway, from my clinical experience, these borrelia associated bands usually predict a clinical change in symptoms with antibiotics, regardless of whether they are IgG or IgM." -----------------
About that "LLMD"... are you sure he IS one?? If you'll PM the name to me, I'll check our list of LLMD's.

Count IND as a yes, too.
According to Dr C of MO....the IgM is positive more often in chronic lyme than the IgG. See my post above.

Speaking of questions.... my cb-57 count is 90. I was told that is normal, but read something that contradicts it. What do you think?
