Hi all.
A good many months ago I had asked here if tail bone pain was common in lyme disease.
I got some answers of yes and some that didn't know or thought it could have been due to something else like an injury, etc.
I had tail bone pain for about a year. The tail bone pain started a few months before I actually got really ill. It lasted up until around last month. It's still around, but it's gotten much, much better. I can actually sit on the couch for a longer period of time without being in pain.
When it first started happening I thought it was the couch since it was new furniture. That couldn't have been possible since it lasted for nearly a year... your bum usually gets used to that kind of thing rather quickly.
I had asked my LLMD if he knew if tail bone and Lyme were common and he had never heard of it. But I believe mine was caused by either lyme or my Bartonella and it's better since being on abx for at least 4 months now or so.

I have also had bouts of very bad tail bone pain. My LLMD told me that it IS a symptom of lyme! Makes sense, because there actually is a tiny little joint down there.

No, for me it is actual PAIN You can't put any pressure on the area, which makes sitting just about impossible.

No, it is mostly pain for me as well.
It would be so bad that even going for a drive in the car would hurt my butt. It would be hard to sit in the same position for too long.
Thankfully, the abx seems to have helped as I don't have as much pain there as I used to.

I have tail bone pain & would bet all my money on it being lyme or co related. Lyme can effect any joint, muscle or ligament in the body. If it can effect your knees it can very well settle in the tail bone
Moist heat & extra cushioning where I sit helps. I take a special cushion even to restraunt.
My heart goes out to you
