Hello everyone,

The VA does not pay for Lyme diagnosis and treatment. It is their nationwide, unwritten policy not to diagnose or treat chronic Lyme disease.

In fact, the VA deliberatly misdiagnosed me with a stroke--by 2 MRI's. 4 VA neurologists and a PhD-MRI technician, who read the MRI, are the culprits in Albuquerque. A neurologist outside the VA told me the 2 MRI's did not show a stroke. He said, besides, strokes (ischemic) don't hurt. I hurt. At the time I had not brought my VA medical records to him.

Actually, I had Bell's palsy, and most every sign and symptom of Lyme.

A year-and-a-half later I figured out what I had, I told the VA, and they refused me.

State Medicaid told me that since I can go to the VA because I am a veteran, I could not, therefore, get state Medicaid. A number of state people told me that. So I fought the state and won Medicaid. (Not a lawsuit.)

All vets please see a topic I just posted on the General Support forum: "Housing, Homelessness, Veterans."

This is war!

Take care and good luck.

Daise

P.S. Service-connected contraction of Lyme disease may be possible, but you have to fight! Search for Military Lyme Support at Yahoo, or try health.groups.yahoo.com/group/militarylyme/

Hi LymeTuTu,

I read your story. You've been through the mill. Everybody has a different Lyme adventure. Your story could be very helpful to someone else, who has your path of trouble. It's shocking what Lyme does to people.

[dizzy]

Are you a vet?

You keep losing your drawers. Or rather, your tutu's! I know: get suspenders. That'll work.

Take care,

Daise [Big Grin]
