Hi All

I have noticed in the last couple of weeks
I have put on some weight--

Could it be the Mepron or the
5 giant carrot cakes and the 3 large
apple pies I ate last week--

What do you think--Jay--

Hi!
I started Mepron a couple weeks ago too and I've done nothing but lose weight!
I am 5'9', down to 117 lbs. and looking more skeletal than thin. Yuck.
Also, I do not eat anything that may remotely contain sugar. I thought that was a "no-no" for lymies!!!
If I am wrong, please tell me. I'd love a piece of cake myself (or 5 or six pieces... [lick]

Hey Ecostef

What did you weigh before you started the mepron-

You know that you are supposed to take the mepron
with greasy food-- makes it work Much better-

Its been a long time sence I started taking
mepron - but from what I remember I lost
about 20 pounds or so --

I got down to about 135 -I am 5-8 also
but I have thick bones

then I put it back on in about 6 months--

I originally lost 17lbs. I have gained back 5 lbs. I gained it back because I eat sugar now. Still do not eat pasta or bread and very little butter, don't miss it.

I try to eat well, but I crave ice-cream and chocolate. I can't have it in the house. I have to work really hard to not buy a McDs chocolate shake. Sometimes I succeed, some time I don't...

Hi ALL

To be the most successful in getting threw
these diseases you Have to
Eat Good to be Good --

I was able to eat all that cake and pie
because I have eaten Just Good food-
for the last 10 years or so--

I have eaten a Chunk of Broccoli and
Callowflower as big as a Duplex and
and 2 motor homes put together -

I eaten enough chicken and soup
that would fill up a pool deep enough
to do a back flip in to --

Threw the 10 years I had only eaten
enough junk food to fill up about 5
Flintstones lunch boxes --

One thing I learned is that I
payed Alot for the junk food
in feeling bad and slowing down
my recovery -

I still eat perty good-
my stomic now works good and
never hurts any more --

I can now eat perty much what ever I want
as long as I dont go overboard --

12 years ago I had candida about as bad
as it gets --now Im fine --

About 4 yrs ago I finally figured out
that I have Lyme and Babs- 20 yrs -

Now after about 3 years of Good treatment
I am Feeling Perty Most of the time
and I am getting my life back -

Getting well from these diseases is
Not Easy and sure No Fun --

You can do it --
but you have to Do It Right -- Jay --

Hi Jay,
I was 135 lbs before I started losing in August.
I only started the Mepron a few weeks ago and dropped from 124 to 117.

I have not been eating greasy food, though. In fact, I have trouble eating any food at all. I do not have any appetite to speak of.

My doc told me not to eat sugar or carbs, but I have been cheating with the bread side of things.

Eating only meat and veggies was making me really shaky, so I usually have crackers or bread every day.

I started flagyl a few days ago too, and the herxes are killing me!

Hey Echo

Its is Real Important for you to take mepron
with greasy food- grease make the mepron
work about twice as good--

This is what I did when I was not hungry-

I would eat a spoon full of Butter or
take a big gulp of Olive oil or salad oil
and mix the mepron with these in my mouth
and then swallow it --

Doing this seemed to work perty good--

This is how I got threw all the herxing-
I would think that each day of pain
and every pill I took is getting me
one day closer to being well again-

I would also think about that every pill
I took is Killing more of those
F#*@%kking germs that have ruined my life-

You Have to make up your mind that you
are Not going to let the Bugs win --

Yep Flagyl will give you big herxes-

Make sure to drink Gallons of water or tea
every day- it washes the bad stuff out
and will make your herxes less severe -

Hope this helps you --Jay--

It doesn't have to be greasy, but just fatty; like peanut butter or peanuts, avacadoes, donuts, ice cream......but I digress...

Hey, if I thought the Mepron was going to make me lose weight I'd friggin drink it down like Koolaid.....does this really happen?

I took it for a month but probably only choked it down once a day instead of two; but I need to refill it and get going again. Is there really a chance I'll lose weight? I've gained 40 pounds since I've been sick the last three years; would love to lose it. Any ideas?

Other than laying off the cookies and ice cream, that is.

Tracy, I haven't lost weight on it. In fact I gained weight at first from adding the fat to my diet.

Now I'm back to where I was before, but it's been three months. I could still stand to lose more weight.
