My wife is undergoing a herx over the past 11 days.
She was doing well for several weeks on doxy and then added in Dr.Z babesia herbs - 2 weeks later this herx started. Today was particularly bad - she had crushing fatigue and chest tightness.
A complicating factor is that her doxy was in tablet form since starting treatment 3 months ago, today she ran out of the tablets and started the capsules (same dosage). Could this be a factor too?
Anyway the question is, is it ok to stop all meds for about 2 days just to give the body a break?
We don't want to ask our LLMD about the "medicine break" since he'll just say to stop Dr.Z herbs altogether (this LLMD does not work with herbs).

Thank Lymetoo! After reading that thread it looks like a break is recomended during a bad herx. Will go half strength today (Friday), Saturday & Sunday.

Yan,
If symptoms got too bad for me, I would take half the dose, even a third at times, but always tried to keep SOMETHING in my system.
Some doctors say don't cut it out completely, as when you herx, one is killing it, so dont stop. Others say, dont kill yourself in the process. I say do what she can handle
And, on another note, I could NOT take doxy in the capsule form. It made me SO much sicker. I could only do doxy in the tablet form, and it ended up being a god send for my symptoms. I had my first normal day ever on doxy.
Keep going! I pray ur wife gets better soon.
