I am having realy strange arm/shoulder pain in my left arm where my PICC is. I also just feel fatigued (well, I always do...lol, but I think it is a little worse). I don't know if this is my PICC line or just arm/shoulder pain. [shake]

Anyone have experience with this? Should I go to the ER? Help! Thanks!

When in doubt, go to the ER.

You're worth it. GO!

It's not for nothing even if they find nothing, your peace of mind is worth a lot, too!!! I had shoulder/arm pain the first few days after insertion, that's standard to be achey- if you didn't just get the line, then I would get it checked out!!!
Bestest wishes,
Sarah

I had the line inserted about 7 weeks ago. I will see what my mom says (I'm 17, lol).

Has anyone had this happen?

I do remember I had pain in my shoulder from time to time. Take your temp if you have a fever(even a low one) definitely go to the hospital!

Call your LLMD, now! If you can't get him/her, then go to the ER right now and have them pull the line. It could be infected and if you have sepsis (infection of the blood) it is a ticking time bomb! Do not wait and see. get it pulled for your own safety. Pain is NOT normal. If there is any discharge from the line, redness, swelling or feeling sick when you flush the line, goooo and fast!

Thanks for all your concern everyone! [kiss] I called the Dr. and he said if I don't have swelling, flu-like symptoms or a fever then it can wait until tomorrow morning to have it pulled/looked at by the surgeon who put it in. I am not on IV abx...it was for iron IV's, so it's not that big of a deal to have it pulled.

Thanks again. You are so amazing in answering my questions. [group hug]
