I've been on meds for Lyme, Babs, Bart and Erl. for a year now. Went through IV Rocphin, Cefzil, Mino, Mepron, Bactrim, Azith, etc...They all helped with one symptom or another, but I've had a meningitis like feeling for a year now that never goes away.

Started Rifampin and Alinia a month ago ( 3 weeks of moderate herx) and my neck and back of head symptoms are gone. My ridiculous painful lymphs are gone and the pressure in my head is gone. I'm not sure which med. was the one that got it or if both worked together with the Azith and mino I still pulse with. Just thought I'd pass this along. I can't tell you how great it is to move my head without wanting to scream. YEA! [Smile]

Oh, and if anyone out there has been though the weird head drainage that tickles past the eardrum thing I'd love to chat.... what the heck was that?! [confused]

Not that I really know much about this topic, but I think I read

somewhere that in cases of meningitis/encephalits, CSF may drain

through the ears /sinuses [confused]

Aloha Lori!

I'm so HAPPY FOR YOU!!! big smiles!!

Thank you for sharing you improvments...nice to hear the good!!

This intrigues me cause I just began taking Alinia at 1000mg twice daily for a week during the full moon....(last month began)..

it definantly was the extra kock that really killed some BABS...and BART came out ....

so now my LLMD wants me to stop the mepron and start Rifampin...

I'm interested to see how this will play out..

I defiantly have the 'meningitis' stuff...I read the warning/info sheet that comes with the Rifampin...

it says that it's used to treat TB and early Meningitis ...interesting...

What was your herx like? you said they were moderate...

I'm only on Alinia for a week...

does it make you really TIRED?? and a bit nauseated?I feel really 'drugged'...from the ALinia...at least it calms my nerves - smile...b

I'm going to be taking Rifampin with Zith and Omnicef...I make the switch from Mepron to Rifampin in a week...

any words of wisdom..?

I havn't experienced the ear drainage thing...

so glad to hear of your imrpovments...

Much Love~

Fawne

I have the ear drainage thing..sounds like a clicking noise when it drains. I have been on treatment almost a year as well, most of it on IV Rochephin and Babesia treatment.

I have a total meningitis symptom presentation.

I am so happy to hear you are feeling better..awesome.

Feels like my skull has arthritis including my neck...it's wicked to say the least!!

Hello all,

Thanks for replying to my post. I was out for a few days and just now have a chance to respond.

My moderate herx feeling can be described as morning sickness with a tinge of flu. The Azith 3 times a week really kicks the Alina and Rifampin into high gear for me. Yes, the Alinia makes me tired. Oh, and the Rifampin makes your pee and poo reddish. (I have 2 little boys if you can't tell) LOL I'm herxing again now worse then before. I'm happy for it 'cause I know where it will take me in the end. As for the meningitis thing, I can't tell you how many drs. in the begining told me that I had a pinched nerve in my neck. BS!! I'm glad to hear that someone out there can understand the ear drain thing..yes mine crackles too. Oh and my head has been draining constantly since May when I started Mepron and Azith with Artemesinin. It mostly worked with the front part of my head (sinus and face pressure). The Rifampin and Alinia is now getting the back. All my early crazy symptoms are gone too. Like the hot foot thing, my heart beating wacky, rib pain, feeling like I had to stretch my calves all the time, arthritis feeling in my hands, loss of breath, extreme fatigue going up some steps, severe nerve pain, etc, etc.....anyway....

I love my Dr. I swear that man is a genius! He truly saved my life. Best to all of you.

Lori
