I change clothes, and dry my hair, and they just get wet, and I'm stil chilled. I can't stay in a hot tub all day long, and I can't change clothes all day long...is there something that can stop it?
I used to have it happen now and then. I'm on my 2nd day of mepron (also taking biaxin). I was hoping I would be one of those who wouldn't have any trouble--it would just go away. Vacation is less than 3 weeks away.
Hope there's good suggestions out there.
Thank you, all of you, for being such supportive people. I've been helped a lot by reading on this site.

Buy lot's and lots and lots of underwear, tee-shirts, and socks and comfy "pajamas" pants.

James Case, Do you mean by 5 months in that you're being treated for babs for that long now? Or the whole lyme and co- thing?
I'm so glad my husband makes enough for me to stay home. Guess where all our expendable income goes to?
Thanks for commenting.

Apparently treating Babs with the Cowden (The specific ones for Babs) as well as Zhangs Artimisin, stops the sweats in a lot of patients. It helps control it, kill it -- from what I'm hearing.
Might be worth doing some research to see if you can add to your routine.

Thank you, Metallic Blue. I'll ask my LLMD about it at the next appt. Zhang's protocol is in my future.
I've been reading on this site about mepron. It seems that some people have not had a really bad experience until they added the artemisin, and then it got really intense--effective, but hard to go thru.
I'm all for gutting it out, and getting it over with--but after vacation, not during.

I can definitely relate to this. And it would also go over into the bed when I would soak the bed with these soaks so I was having to change sheets constantly too which is a real pain.
Wish I had some good advice on it, but all I can say is to keep the treatment going and eventually it does get better. In the mean time, stock up on laundry soap.

Cathy, I haven't had that happen yet, I've actually only had one night sweats. All mine seem to happen during the day.
lymednva, 9 months, and still being treated! Babs just started emerging about 6 months into my lyme treatment, and I just started getting treatment for it. I wonder if I have a mild case, because it looks like my LLMD expects me to be on mepron for 3 months.
Thank you both for replying.

Make sure you eat fatty food when you take your Mepron and make sure you take 3 teaspoons per day, not 2. Keep that up along with Biaxin or Zithromax for 4-6 months, and add artemesia annua to the mix. Eventually, the sweats will calm down!!!

WildCondor, My LLMD wistfully told me he preferred that I took it 3 times a day (or even 4!), but understood that I take supps/meds about 12 times a day (and many times those need to be 2 hours apart), and so he knew 2 times would be a challenge.
It really is--my life is ruled by the clock, because I can't get behind schedule by more than a few minutes or there will be a pile up.
I think I'm going to get the artemesia annua added at the next appt.
I appreciate your input, and everyone else's who've got before. This is a confusing, scary illness, and it's good to know what to expect.

So stop some of the supplements, because the Mepron is more important and try that 3-4 X per day with Zithro or Biaxin and Artemesia.

Oh, Wow, WildCondor, I just remembered--it's the cholestryamine he wanted me to do 3-4 times a day. That one you have to wait a half hour after eating, and then not eat for 2 hours afterward.
He did go thru everything I take, and some things are now off my list.
I do take biaxin. I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking the Artemesia is going to be added later.
I can see you have a lot of experience, and appreciate your sharing it with me. I'll ask about taking mepron more often at the next visit.
I've been on mepron for 3 days now, and I actually am having a little less pain, and less drenching. This could be a good thing, if only it continues!
