Well day 9 on IV Rocephin..I know but I cannot help counting.

Last night my throat went on fire. The rest of me is really bad also...with the neuropathy. Fingers keep going numb...better than the burning? The doctor does not see anything in my throat? Has anyone had weird tooth pain and sore throats?

It is targeting where I had tooth implants and root canal in the past...but I think it is lyme. My jaw/ears hurt so bad.

I have had both sore throats and tooth pain as symptoms of my Lyme disease. They can come and go. I didn't necessarily have these flare on IV rocephin, though.

It is hard to sit tight with new symptoms, but perhaps a few more days will help make the symptoms clear out. If they persist for too long (2 weeks?), then I would be more concerned. Be sure to work on detoxing.

I have had sore throats and burning sensations, it is so awful. Thankfully it tends to come and go as many of my symptoms do. I guess I am not alone in my symptoms coming and going.
I am also interested in what you mean by detoxing Robin.
Best Wishes,
S

Yes, bad tooth pain - coughing - roof of mouth and palate pain as well. Was horrific before abx, has much improved since 400 mgs doxy daily since Feb '07. But when I'm feeling 'Lymey', I still get that.

you can do a search here on detxing - tons of info. detoxing helps usher the bad stuff out of your body and eases herx reactions.

some ideas -

chlorella (lots is better than less, so you bind toxins instead of just mobilizing them)

water w/ lemon

lemon/olive oil mix - search on this site for exact info

detox baths w/ epsom salts & baking soda. some people like to add ginger too.

detox teas - dandelion is good. search for tincup's tea recipe on this site.

apple pectin

destroxin

MSM

beta sitosterol

lots of fiber!

good luck.

I haven't had the sore throat but have had bizarre tooth pain and vibrations in teeth off and on as well as severe jaw and ear pain. I found Oil Pulling to be incredibly helpful for these symptoms and I honestly think my joint pain eases up too whenever I pull Oil.

I'm very inconsistent about doing it just because it takes 20 mins first thing in the morning but I can tell you, the toothpain recedes that day and even though I have not had my teeth cleaned for 2 yrs because of the costs of this disease, my teeth feel as smooth and polished as they do right after a cleaning.

I pull Sunflower Oil (regular brand from the grocery store - unrefined). I follow the oil with a warm salt water rinse and gargle and then I brush my teeth. Tooth pain gone and mouth feels great.

You can search Oil Pulling here to get everyone's take on it. Also here is a link about the Doctor who discovered this.

www.oilpulling.com

Google search brings up a load of information and I know when I was researching it, I also found a doctor who debunked it.

All the same, it is not dangerous to try (even the debunker says that) and not expensive either. Just a little time and effort. Can't hurt to try it and see if it helps.

To add to the list of detoxing:

detox foot pads

sauna

exercise

regular bowel movements

lymph drainage - rebounder

dry brushing

Juicing

macrobiotic or raw diet (as much as possible)

purified water - add electrolytes

Be careful with Chlorella. It can do wonders, but also cause problems if you are not taking it properly. Best under supervision.

Monica,

Rocephin is good at hitting the sinuses and teeth, jaw and ear pain could all be related to sinuses.

I know when I had sinus issues, worse than now, I would get the teeth pain, ear pain and sore throat, usually all one sided.

The sore throat may be from post nasal drip? Just a thought.

I have been sick for almost 2 years and was diagnosed with Lyme this past June. Nausea has been my most consistant, debilitating complaint but I also have experienced a sore throat the whole time as well.

About 6 months ago I started feeling what I can only describe as vibrations and weakness in my teeth. VERY IRRITATING. About 2 months ago I developed a burning sensation on the roof of my mouth and tongue. I also sometimes get shooting pain in my ear. Odd....not sure what is Lyme, versus treatment, etc. Just wanted to share my experience with you...you aren't alone!
