I am wondering if those of you who are taking both Mepron and Artemisinin are taking them together or do you separate them by an hour or two? I know the Mepron needs to be taken with some fat, does the artemisinin as well or does it not matter? Is it ok to take both together (with azithromycin as well), or not? Thx!

CS--

If you read about the half-life of the drugs, in my personal opinion, I would take them together. One of the reasons docs have found adding Artemisinin to the mix has been so successful is because its half-life works in tandem with the half-lives of Mepron and Zithromax....This was a highly effective combo for me for babesia...I knocked my babs out for good with these three (taken together) and I've never had it return...Good Luck!!!

I'd suggest taking the artemisinin on an empty stomach then about an hour later take the Mepron (atovaquone) with some food (fat).

Thanks, sounds like there is conflicting info on this. Right now I have been taking the artemisinin in the morning on an empty stomach about a half hour before the Mepron/Zith/fat, and in the evening about an hour after the Mepron/Zith/fat, but if it is better to take it all together, or doesn't matter, then it would be easier to take it all at once.

When I did this protocol I took them all at the same time. Take Mepron with fat but you can take them all together, Zithromax too.

I take Art 15-30 min. before breakfast, lunch and dinner. Those were the instructions from my LLMD.

Talk about memory problems! I saw my LLMD yesterday and your post reminded me that I was supposed to start taking artemisinin!

So thanks for unintentionally helping me! It would have been embarrassing to admit to him that I had forgotten. I should know better (write it down).

Based on the last notes of DR J S in FL he says:

BABESIA TREATMENT ERRORS PROPOSED AS OF April/2008
WHY BABESIA TREATMENT FAILS
ROUTINE TREATMENTS FOR BABESIA BASED ON NEW 2008 RESEARCH SHOWS MEPRON ROUTINE DOSING ULTIMATELY FAILS, AND LEADS TO ROUTINELY MISSED RELAPSES. THE RELAPSE MAY BE MISSED FOR SEASONS TO DECADES. ARTEMISININ IS FAR TOO WEAK FOR BABESIA CURE AND EVEN 3 CAPSULES A DAY OF ZHANG ARTESUNATE (LABELLED "ARTEMISIAE") IS FAR TO LOW FOR CURE EVEN IF HERX SIGNS. DR. SCHALLER IS PROFOUNDLY CLOSE TO DR. ZHANG AND HAS DETERMINED NEW 2008 DOSING PROTOCOLS FOR SOME OF HIS PRODUCTS. HIS SUGGESTED DOSING FAILS TO CURE BABESIA. IT MUST BE OVER 3/DAY.

Does it mean over 3 per day or take it 3xday !

What is the dosage that he might be speaking with .Which one does he uses?

I hope that somebody that is beeing treated from him will write something about it.

Also what about the kids.

I increased my son artemisin ( 2 X350 mg ) and he sweat all night long.Well that was after 10 months of treatment with ZITHR AND MEPRON.

So I know bab microti that he came positive ( high) is still there .

I am thinking of sending him also next week to the chiropractic that does muscle testing.-ART.

Beilive it or not his body wanted artemisin since in the begining and did not wanted mepron at all !But the LLMD has perscribed it and even though I mentioned this thing about mepron he did not stoped it and he said just add artemisin and see what happens.

WHICH artemisin you used ?

Dr J S mentioned on his notes DR ZH the herbalist in NY!

I frequently recommend Artemisia for my clients. However many people are unaware of the effects of Artemisia on liver metabolism and therefor do not dose correctly.

Artemisia upregulates its own metabolism and so dosing should be pulsed, 4 days on, 3 days off. This will ensure optimal blood levels of the active constituent DHA.

See my conference proceedings paper online for more information on herbs and Lyme disease.

i take allergy research group artemisin, 100 mg, 3 times a day, at meals, as directed by my llmd.

i also take mepron, 1 teaspoon, with breakfast and dinner, making sure i have sufficient fat levels to ensure maximum potency.
