Hi Everyone,

I really want to be tested for co-infections. I began treatment for Lyme almost a month ago. I'm on Doxy and am trying to incorporate limited Cowden as well. Due to heavy herxing, I had to stop the Cowden until I can review everything with my LLMD this coming week.

Can tests for co-infections be done while I'm on antibiotics?

I think I'm beginning to see a bartonella or bartonella-type rash on the trunk of my body and the sides of my upper ribcage.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Fuzzy

I can't answer that question for sure. I had stopped all abx for 12 days before I tested very IgM positive for lyme borrellia antibodies.

All of my Co-infections came back negative. I don't buy it for a minute that I don't/didn't have babs, bart or erch (sp). I tested negative with Igenex. I've had Lab corp three times test negative for rickettsia/rocky mountain spotted cousin and I'm not so sure on that one.

Based on some of my sx during the last 7 years I would bet money that I've had/have some type bart and rickettsia infection. But I will also say that I have been bitten at least 6 times by deer ticks, lone star ticks and spiders (?) since becoming ill....

and prior to becoming aware of bites & lyme & company, who knows?

Pam
