I got a rx for some saline flushes and heparin and I have called Walgreens, CVS, Target Pharmacy, WalMart Pharmacy, etc. None of them carry these types of things.
Where on earth do I get them...and urgently because I need to be able to flush my PICC line by Tuesday.
Thank you!!!
Also, I am having some chest pain with my PICC line and I got it on Tuesday...should the pain be gone by now?

Hi knshore!
You can get the needed flushes from an infusion pharmacy.....suggestions might be to look in the phone book, check on line, call a hospital and ask or ask the regular phamacy who is the infusion phamacy in the area.
As far as the chest pain and PIC line.....always good to check back with your doc or whoever put it in......to be safe.
Good luck!

kn-you can order them from infuserveamerica.com They have an 800 number if you go to their web site. They will Fed Ex them to you. Their prices are very cheap but they must make some money on the shipping.
I don't know where you live but I go to a pharmacy that sells me the empty syringes and I buy 50 ml bags of saline from them for $2.00 each and fill them myself. I also mix the rocephin with saline myself. They also sell me 30 heparin filled syringes for $30.00.
A nurse comes once a week to change the dressing on the PICC line.
I also tried the CVS, Walmart, etc. route and was unsuccessful. If you live near a hospital you can try a pharmacy linked to them. Hope this helps.
Haven't you been flushing your PICC line everyday now? That is a must! Let me know.
Good idea to check with your doc about the chest pain but it can linger so it's not unusual.
Good luck!
