Hi,
I've asked some of my family and friends in West Virginia to send this to you, so please take a moment to read it and then to send it to everyone in your address book. Thanks!

I am working as a volunteer at a grass roots level to get a bill passed in Congress. The people working on this project are all volunteers who are either chronically ill with Lyme disease and/or who have children who are sick. We don't want your money or sympathy... we just need a minute of your time.
Can you please call your Senators Robert Byrd and John D. Rockefeller and ask them to CO-SPONSOR the Lyme Disease Bill, S-1708.
Senator Robert Byrd 202-224-3954
Senator John Rockefeller 202-224-6472
Simply tell them your name and address and tell them you would like them to sign on as a co-sponsor to the Lyme Disease Bill, S-1708.
That's it!
Note- You can call after hours and leave them a message. It takes less than 2 minutes. Just be sure to leave your name and address and phone number.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
PS... If you prefer you can write, email or fax their offices using the contact information below.
I am a West Virginia native and my family and most of my relatives still live there.
Senator Rockefeller's mother died from alzheimer's. Don't know any details of her illness, but I think she lived with the family and spent time in their mountain getaway.
Anyway, he has donated several million dollars to West Virginia University Hospital (was renamed Ruby Memorial Hospital a few years ago) to build a new neurology research center named after his mother. Wish we could somehow get them interested in researching Lyme disease as well as alzheimer's.

Thanks for writing up the letter for me. Simply and easy. I'll send it on and have people start calling.
8man12 said it well. There is complete denial in this area that Lyme exists. Most of the neurologists at WVU are very closed minded about the subject.
This is a terrible shame. They are still building the new Neurology center in honor of Blanchette Rockefeller. It would be a wondeful opportunity if we could get some research $ for lyme tied in with that project.
What can I say, we have more ducks than you can shake a stick at here in Motown...
