They always have been, but the differnce is a lot more pronounced

now. If this is from cranial neuropathy, how worried should I be?

Could it just be a neuro herx?

I don't have an answer, but it is interesting you have this problem b/c I do, too.

My eye problems were my first major symptom and they remain one of my worst.

I have bouts of blurriness, can't focus, jerky eye movements, my eyes often feel like they are attached on each side by rubber bands (especially when I am stressed or tired).

I also have episodes where one eyebrow rises above the other - I can literally see it rising in the mirror after I pull it down.

Do you ever have a lazy eye?

I never knew it, but someone once told me I did.

I was devastated b/c I never thought people could tell how messed up my eyes were...

Anyway, I hope you (we) get an answer to the question. A neuro I saw once laughed at me when I told him about this.

Years later, I should write him a letter and say IT IS BECAUSE I HAVE LYME DISEASE!!

Take care:)

OK,I'll join in. I have one raised eyebrow. It has mostly stayed down the last month or so, but was distinctly raised for about 5 months. I actually felt it go up one night last year.

I also have the rubber-band feeling at the sides of my eyes.

My strangest symptom is the feeling that my eyelids are "flabby" and drooping, even though nothing looks unusual when I look in the mirror.

Anyone else with flabby eyelids?
Kris

There are two cranial nerves that could possibly be affected and causing this.

One is the facial nerve, Cranial VII.

The other is Trigeminal, Cranial V.

I know both can be affected by Lyme.

It may be part of a herx.

Look for any other facial weakness or drooping.

However, be careful about any palsy in the face.

It could also be something else.

Hugs,

Geneal

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but only bilateral - but Dr. S used to tell me to stop scrunching up my forehead, but I couldn't help it.

Since I had Bell's Palsy I figured the eye brow asymmetry may be permanent.

Then the eyelids became swollen to the point the upper eyelid would droop to the eyelashes. Started on the right side (Bell's Palsy side) but then extended to the left.

Also have had the eye symptoms, pain, blurriness, the above mentioned rubberband feeling "pulling".

Since diagnosed with iritis and treated, the eye brows are almost even and the swollen eyelids are much less swollen. The eye doc told me Iritis could cause the swelling, the eye pain and muscle spasms. Of course, the underlying cause must be treated. LLMD says bart.

I know this wasn't my post originally, so I hope you don't mind me jumping in AGAIN!

It is so interesting to know others with the same problems.

An eye doctor told me my eyes and eyebrow symmetry looked completely normal, even when I could feel the muscles doing strange things.

I wonder if these are things that eventually resolve with treatment. I have a long way to go, but am hopeful!

Adamm, hope you find comfort knowing you are not alone:)

i'm in too!! my eyebrows in the morning look strange. the right is lower than the left.

the inside of my right eye is also puffy and the eyelid droops.

it seems to go away during the day but sometimes that swelling is quite noticeable.

I have this problem too. When I first went to neurologist in 1996..when sx started he notes that I had ptosis...drooping...of left eyelid.

We didn't know at that point what caused it. Over the years while I wasn't being treated properly it drooped even more. Then I started to notice that my left eyebrow was lower than the right one.

When I started treatment about 2 years ago my eyelid drooped even farther. It never went back up and now my eyebrows are 2 different heights.

I eventually had an eyelid lift for my left eye. It was effecting my vision. My brows are still different heights though.

Mine has gone back down since Bart treatment. I did not test for Bart and though my LLMD was a bit puzzled by the eyebrow and my flabby eyelid feelings, he did talk alot about Bart and eye issues. the flabby feelings have not gone away yet.

Is it like that all day, or only as the day goes on? (which was my case).

Since I worked every day, my right eye and brow would start to droop in the afternoons. LLMD deemed it muscle fatigue (body would burn out by the afternoon). Placing a drop of Peppermint Oil above each eyebrow would both refresh my brain and my muscles.

I only had the eyelid lift on one eye...the effected one of course.

My insurance covered it because my vision tests showed terrible peripheal vision.

I wasn't put to sleep for it...they just numbed me up in the room. I did not do it through a regular plastic surgeon. I went to a doctor who is a optho who specializes in this surgery.
