I have been on diflucan for a month, and I still herx on it.
I am not sure if this is from a die-off of lyme or yeast.
Overall, I found this drug to really help.

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."
Five Steps to Candida Elimination:
1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.
2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]
3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]
4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]
5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

Diflucan kills yeast and lyme. I herxed severely on it and it also helped my lyme. My doctor says it kills neurological lyme in 10% of people.

yes i think i had die-off last week from diflucan. my brain suddenly went incredibly foggy for hours and hours at a time and i felt very ill. ill as in a different kind of ill than my lyme treatment. the die-off started less than a week into the diflucan. about 5 days or so.

In September I had a bad experience with diflucan. I only took it for a week but I ended up severely ill and hospitalized with what I believe was meningitis (the hospital, of course, refused to believe I have chronic Lyme so blamed the "central nervous system infection" on herpes simplex).
Let's just say I'm REALLY scared of diflucan now.

It hit me on day 5, neuro stuff, eye twitching, cold extremities, sweats (no elevated temp)???.
Day 6 - add extreme nausea, headache, return of parasthesia in right hand with extension up arm, numbness in teeth, swollen glands, lump in throat, pressure in center of chest, ear pressure that came & went.
Only lasted a couple? few? days. It really freaked me out.
How long are you on it?

My LLMD actually has put me on a 50 day course of diflucan with doxy.
For Lyme and I guess a little yeast.
I am not having any major yeast issues, but have herxed before on diflucan due to yeast.
Hugs,

Yes.
Diflucan is used to treat yeast, and some studies profess it kills lyme as well. I am on it now for 30 days, then back to antibiotics.
It penetrates the blood brain barrier VERY easily, hence alot of strange herx symptoms... at least for me. I get neuro herxes from hades on diflucan.
