Hey guys/gals,

I have a question...For the past month I've been experiencing blurry vision, and it has me a bit concerned.

I've been to an Opthamologist, who stated that everything looked fine to him, but perhaps I am at the age of needing eye aids.

While that may be true, I find it odd that the blurriness came on all of the sudden, and not gradually, as you would expect.

Does the blurry vision improve, as treatment is continued?

Hi Craig,

Blurry vision was one my first major symptoms (have Lyme, Babs and Ehrlich.).

When I first began to notice it, I was terrified it signaled something serious.

In addition to the blurred vision in general, I really couldn't see up close anymore.

I also had problems with the muscles around my eyes.

In recent years it has progressed to where my eyes are jerky when I try to focus.

I have had undiagnosed Lyme for at least 12 years (possibly longer, long story another time:) and I've only been treating it for a couple of months.

I can't say for sure whether this problem will ever be resolved, but I like to think so!

One interesting thing is I was given prescription eyeglasses last year and they do help somewhat, especially with the eye fatigue that comes with straining all the time.

Keep me posted and I really wish you well!!!

Jackie

I have intermittent blurry vision as well, like floaters or spots that come and go.

I just started Doxy in November and it seems to be better.

The other lyme symptoms are not any better yet, but I thought I would add my 2 cents.

My blurry vision had been going on since Jan 07.

I don't have a problem with floaters, or stickiness, but intermittent blurriness and seeing things up close [similar to what was mentioned].

The thing is, it happened so fast, since it's only been noticeable since around Thanksgiving. I'm on Doryx and Biaxin, so I'm hoping this helps it.

I'm trying not to freak out, and think about the possibility of going blind from this disease. I don't know much more to do though, since I've seen an Opthomologist, and I'm in the beginning phases of treatment. I'd like to think I've caught it early enough, that things will gradually improve. Instead, they seem like they're getting worse.

I am NOT a doctor and, of course, you should thoroughly investigate whenever there is a change in vision.

However, to ease your mind, my change in vision was VERY sudden. I went from being fine one day to not being able to see clearly up close the next.

It was very scary and I, too, swore I was going blind. 12 years later, I can still see!

Just seek expert opinions and take comfort in knowing that you aren't alone and it is likely just a result of the Lyme, which seems to affect every body part!

Take care:)

Thanks Wondering, I needed to hear that. Like I said before, I've had an Opthomologist look at my eyes and test them, and he could find nothing major.

I'd like to think that it is the Lyme, and that I've caught it early enough to reverse the condition. I'm doing about all I can, so let's hope I'll pull out of this situation!!

Craig et al -- I went through the same experience, going to a top neuro-opthalmologist who could find nothing wrong in his tests, altho he had to anesthetize my eyes for me to be able to look at light!

My eye symptoms were floaters, sensitivity to light, eye muscle pain and then the blurred focus -- that last one sent me to the doctor. I have just Lyme, no co's.

So -- I was able to fix my problem, thx to my chiropractor who suggested I try drinking mangosteen juice. I got the Ultra brand(has 70 minerals added to it from Utah seabeds), drank a little, with some water, and within the first hour, the eye muscle pain and blurred focus diminished, and my sinuses started to run.

Within 24 hours, the two eye symptoms I just mentioned were gone, and I could look at light again! Then my intestines emptied out for three days, then my gums didn't bleed any more.

Mangosteen juice is an anti-inflammatory juice and cleans up free radicals, among many things it does. You can find it in healthfood stores and online. The strongest version is Xango, which many people swear by and is sold multi-level, but is too strong for me.

If you try it, drink a lot of water with it, since it can have a powerful impact on the body. It ends constipation too, which is a problem for some people with Lyme.

I have been drinking it for over a year and still getting these results.
