I was wondering if anyone else has pain in their wrists??

I have not before recently (couple of days ago it started)

I know that my wrists are joints so anything is possible. Why would a joint that never had pain before start now?

I have had the hand pain before. It is a bit worse now.

I started Lyrica about a week ago and I notice a difference with the pain already except this.

Any thoughts appreciated.
Melissa

It is weird. I never heard anyone with Lyme say they have wrist pain.

It is so bad it is keeping me from falling asleep (and staying asleep)even while on Piroxicam, Vicodin and Lyrica (not a full dose yet)

My main Lyme spot is my left wrist; that is where the pain first started. For months I had to wear a wrist brace; it hurt so bad. I get pain in both wrists and fingers now; usually when I wake up, or during a herx, like right now!

I did have pains come out I never had before; for six months or so my left shoulder was in terrible pain, and this was a couple years after my Lyme diagnosis. It had never hurt before.

Migrating pains, I guess.

The joints I have had pain in:

shoulders, elbows, wrists and all my finger joints.

hips, knees, ankles, all the joints in my toes.

there was a time when all of these hurt all at once all the time plus I had pain in the muscles and bones in my arms and legs with the joint pain.

Actually at this point there arent too many places in my body that I havent had pain.

Sorry your wrists/ hands hurts. Hopefully it will stop soon. Do you think it is a herx since it is new? [group hug]

I have had pain in my elbows, hips, knees, fingers, toes, neck and shoulders, but not my wrist. I just think it is weird.

I shouldnt be surprised by anything at this point.

I don't think it is a Herx..I am not completely bedridden. Maybe some kind of flare??

I guess wrist pain is more prevalent than I thought. I have never heard anyone mention it before

Hands and wrists can be rheumatoid.

My lyme became rheumatoid and my left wrist has incurred permanent damage from the inflammation.

As treatment progresses, my arthritis is going away. At this point, only the left wrist remains a problem.

Do you have swelling in your hands/wrists?

They feel swollen (hands and wrists), but don't look swollen. It is also hard to move them and real hard to type.

I have a lot of inflammation infact it is rising. My CRP is the highest it has ever been since getting Lymed.

This disease is crazy!!!!

Hi M,

I get pain in joints where I never had pain before when I start a new abx or increase dosage of a treatment I am already on (that is, when I herx). I think only once did that include the hands and wrist joint.

I've had migrating pains in every bone and tendon at different times.

Recently I had hand cramping and wrist pain that was lessened and helped by going to my chiropractor. He found that I had many knots in the front of my shoulder/upper chest as well as neck tension. After giving me a pressure point massage, the hand cramping stopped all together!

The wrist pain crops up at strange times, but to date has not been consistent.

Best to you,

wiserforit

I have lyme arthritis in my thumbs, which started first in the R thumb, then over a year or two has spread to both thumbs, thumb areas, and sometimes fingers.

It spread while i've been on continuous treatment, sometimes joints, sometimes muscles. Today i took Quercetin and the thumb pain was noticeably less.

I rubbed Thyme oil undiluted on the thumb skin 4 times over two or three? weeks. At first the pain disappeared temporarily. After the 4th rub, the skin on the back of the thumb got red, itchy and bumpy. The itching stopped, but the bumpiness lasted more than week. I don't know if it was a thumb herx or a skin reaction.

I get wrist tendon pains and pains in tendons leading to thumbs, which i've assumed, after reading about delayed Levaquin reactions, is delayed reaction to Cat's Claw. Or to something else i'm taking?

Merry and Sarah, interesting. I've had hand and wrist pain and odd feelings since the beginning. I now go through a major flare with this in Dec. The last 3 yrs it's been doc visit trying to figure out what it is?

Did either one of you have a feeling like someone has a rope around your wrists and they are pulling it tighter and tighter?

Sarah, babs? I just don't fit the typical babs complaints. Well there are some??? But as far as the breathing and chest sx, I've never had those.

Pam

This is the type of pain that brought me to the Lyme diagnosis. The cause for me was actually my muscles around my shoulder. The muscles in that area are so tight they refer pain to the wrist and hands.

I was first misdiagnosed with tendinitis. But once I had muscle work done, it was clear the pain was coming from the shoulders.

Zanaflex helps tremendously. My body can't take the muscle work and it doesn't have a lasting effect.

The human adult body has 206 bones. At one time or another

Every bone or joint has hurt including my wrists, hands, fingers,

Thumbs, elbows, knees, ankles, neck, back, ribs,......

In fact prior to diagnosis, my fingers on my right hand would burn and throb

And I could hardly move them.

I still get pain in my hands, wrists and fingers.

I guess I've gotten used to it. [shake]

Hugs,

Geneal

The pain is better now, I can tolerate it. It amazes me how bad it can hurt one day and the next day it is ok.

I started taking Lyrica, so maybe that is helping.

weird,

Map- I am not messing with you !! Not sure what happened.
