MGH I think stood for Massachusetts General Hospital. They had a discussion board on every possible malady. A few of us recruited Tu Tu from there.
From what Sarah reports it appears they've put TBDs in the 'trash can diagnosis' category.

AHA!!! Okay, I got the SCOOP!!!
It *IS* the old MGH board revamped-
it is a GREAT board, a GREAT board.
The old MGH neurology webforums was called BrainTalk, it was actually run straighft from Mass general Hospital Neuorlogy by this guy named John Lester who had a pet hedgehog- a post reminded me about him- and it was up 9 years back and they moved it and changed the name but the set up and the old timers are the same- but they won't publicly admit it IS the old MGH board just in PMs because some oldtimers had bad blood about the old MGH board.
It was a great board- I used to go on all the forums there and go, "whatever you have can be caused by Lyme!" and annoy people*)! BUT I believe 8man12 is an oldtimer from MGH if I remember right- and an ALSer that LIVED came from there that I annoyed into Lyme treatment so it was worth annoying al thsoe people just so the one could be saved*)!)!
The old MGH archives were DESTROYED and if you say in your first post "I am an old timer returning" as I did this last week you will get told it is a NEW board, only 1 year old- but it IS the same people, it IS the same set up in the way it is laid out and it did take over from the old MGH system!!!
I got sent PMS explaining it while they let me appear a fool publicly- because it is not supposed to be mentioned in public there that it is the old MGH board!!! Weird!!!
People are so weird.
AnyWAY, I amde a request to change the Lyme, Shingles & herpes forum into 2 forums, one Lyme & Coinfections or Lyme & other TBDs and one for Shingles & herpes!!!
It USED to be just Lyme-
We'll see-
it is a good board- GREAT set up- a little strict in some ways- but a nice place- Worth checking out if you want a rest from here- they will NOT allow ANY links to other sites or ANY kind of commercial b.s. AT ALL-
