I wouldn't take anything my doctor is not aware of....

(except maybe a piece of chocolate [Big Grin] ).

Not sure of any interactions between those, but it is always best

To talk to your doctor regarding meds.

It is impossible for your doctor to "manage" your care if

You add things in without their knowledge.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I am also on flagyl, which I pulse with doxy.

Next to rifampin, this is one tough drug to take.

Hugs,

Geneal

Yes "pulsing" means to take the medicine for a few days and stop it for a few days. The theory is that the antibiotics kill the Lyme only when it is relicating. Since Borrelia replicate very very slow, it can hide in the body and become dormant.

Pulse therapy is based on the idea that the organism will be active and replicate while the patient is off the antibiotics, than can be killed when the patient goes back on. This kind of technique is also used in cancer patients.
