Hi all, I am new to this board and have recently been diagnosed with Lyme. I will put a little about me at the end of this post.
I have read the sticky about the generic Rocephin -- thank you so much everyone for that great info.
Here's my question -- how do you find a LLMD who is willing to prescribe the generic Abx? I have no idea how to begin.
I am currently seeing a LLMD who provides the Abx and all supplies (except saline bags) from his office. He charges $6000 - 12,000 per month, or 500-600 a day. ouch! ouch!
Does anyone know how I can find a LLMD near NC who will allow me to purchase my own IV generic abx?
It looks like that's what the folks on the generic rocephin are doing, and saving a lot of money.
I have no idea if it is even possible to buy the generics here. anybody know?
-------- a little about me: I became ill fifteen years ago and was eventually diagnosed with CFS/ME. I live in NOrth Carolina.
My husband also had Lyme, but his case was acute, with a rash, and he was diagnosed and cured immediately. He's good at driving me around, so if I have to travel a bit, he is willing to take me.
My worst symptoms are neurological -- I get a lot of migraines and have a lot of brainfog and cognitive problems. ---------
Thank you all so very much, in advance.

i agree with sarah, see if you can find a cheaper dr. that's a lot of $$, but like sarah, abx have also saved my life.
ive been hospitalized numerous times (near death) experience/s w lyme & co infections
rocephin, and many other abx, have helped me gain back some function.
also, there are alternative therapies to consider, such as hbot, vitamin and supps, herbs, sauna, lots of detox, rife, ondamed, led, .....the list is endless.
get on a course and try it, see how your body responds, then change accordingly.
best of luck to you, iv roc is a good place to start.

Thank you everybody who replied here and in PM's! You all are fabulous.
I am wondering, Derek, what ondamed is? and led? i will certainly search on those -- thanks for cluing me in.
also, derek-- cool blogsite! I am going to give it a more thorough perusal after i get some sleep here.
I've just started the Buhner protocol. I have the HLA-DR4 genetic variation, so if anybody has some ideas on what helps with that, please give me a shout.
peace and good health.
