I have been having episodes of low heart rate with light shortness of breath and spacey feeling. It usually happens at night when I am sitting in my chair. Last night it got down to 40 bpm. I thought I was going to die before morning.
Oh yea and crazy palps too. Sometimes several in a row.

I have had a stress test, echo, stress echo, ekg, 2 holter monitors and a tilt table test. Everything was mostly ok except I failed the tilt table test and have vasovagal syncope. LLMD says this is not the reason for the low heart rate and I agree.

Even if I lie down the symptoms stay the same. The holter monitor never catches anything so llmd suggests event recorder. I called cardio doc and they are going to try and get me one. I am scared!!! What is going to happen in the mean time?

I think my llmd is very good and knows his stuff. So at least I am comfortable in that dept.

Does anyone else have this? Should I be scared of dying from it?

Thanks, Rich

Well I think that low of bood pressure could give someone lightheadness dizziness sensations alone.

I have heart palps, a high pulse, shortness of breath and lightheadness/dizziness (but my bp is normal)

I think for me all of these things are connected to babs for me. This is just my guess as a patient though.

Have you been are you being treated for babs?

I haven't treated babs yet but sometimes suspect it.

I too have bounding pulse, shortness of breath, dizzyness, but my bpm usually is stable around 80. I also have been confirmed with babs.

My babs symptoms seem to be the worst for me. I've been on mepron azith for over a month and no relief so far.

Could any of this be dysautonomia?

Maybe this and babs?

Is your pressure normal? Do you have a pressure cup to check periodically during the day?

I would definitely alert my doctor about this.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs,

Geneal

Thanks everyone,
I didn't mention what my blood pressure has been.
It used to be a staedy 120/80. Now it's usually around 100/60 when my rate is low sometimes it's even 90's/50's.

I don't know what dysautonomia is but I will look it up.
I am also starting to wonder about electrolytes and hormones. I eat a very strict anti yeast, gluten free, organic, mostly vegetarian diet so I amy be missing something in nutrition. I do take mag and potassium.

I'm tall and thin and have lost over 35lbs since being sick. I have always been thin but was very muscular, not the case now. But my point is that in the cardiologists eyes I am thin and young so my heart should be fine more or less

Has your LLMD recommended you see a cardiologist? Someone he could recommend.

I know pulse can get very low and you won't die. My mothers pulse was in the 30's over the last year and the doctor's finally decided on a pacemaker since it remained low. They never found the cause.

If it were me, I'd want to see a cardiologist anyway and keep an eye on it, age is not a factor teenagers have needed pacemakers.

Take care.

Is it at all possible that it's from one of the medications or supplements you are taking?

Have you changed anything in your tx or diet that would coincide with this starting?

That is very scary. Do you have someone around you most of the time? Might not be a good idea to be left along for too long, not until you get this under control.

Everytime I've been to an ER in the past 3 years which has probably been 15 times my bp was always around 90/40 which I think is extremely low. But the doctors still sent me home ! So idk

My dad's pulse was also low - at times in the 20's before he had a pacemaker put in for heart block. I'm thinking I read that heart block can be a symptom of Lyme, anyone know?

Heart bock can be a symptom of lyme and I mentioned that to the cario doc. He said that based on all the tests he has given me so far there is no sign of heart block. He is supposed to be very good but I guess I may have my guard up a bit since he doesn't know lyme. He does take the time to explain things.

As far as BP goes I think 90/50 is the lowest they usually accept as low normal.
