Hi. Anyone with regularly occurring SEVERE menstrual pain (ranging from barely able to function with the med Toradol to ER visits) get better with Lyme treatment?
No rational causes/explanations for the pain found with previous tests/surgeries.
Thanks.

I have no answers for you, except to say that I know what you're going through. My menstrual cramps, especially this last month, were extremely painful. I had to take meds every 6 hours, and more than the instructions said otherwise it didn't help at all.
I've been in treatment for 6 or so months now; out of that, I think there was only one month where I barely had any cramps at all. It seems to be on and off for me. Most months I have terrible cramps, and the others, aren't too bad.

My cycles definitely got better after treatment started. Took a few months (or more), but I saw alot of improvement.
I have also found that Low Dose Naltrexone is helping too. It helps with generalized pain also. I think I like that drug! I'm not sure I'm on the best dose, though. Have to talk to my LLMD about it.

Mine got better with the birth control pill. I had to stop after a year because I found my blood clots. But I notice that my cramps are still less than before the pill, although not as easy as they were on the pill.

There is an association between Lyme and endometriosis (written about by Dr. Andrew Cook0. Just something to keep in mind.
