I'm very sorry, Adam.
How old is your grandmother?
Hard to say about steroids.... I don't know if they normally do that with a fracture, even if there is subsequent surgery.
But, yes, it is a concern about what they will do to ANYBODY when the patient is in a helpless situation!

She's 87. Apparently, my father, who is the one responsible
for making the major decisions about her healthcare, has decided
not to intervene in the work of her doctors at present.

my mom who's 83 just fell in the garage and broke her arm. (just talked to my sister who clarified this, it's not her wrist but arm.) also they found atrial fibrillation.
i am still positive this is all from her undiagnosed lyme but nobody will believe me. she shows marked signs of early dementia and can no longer walk.
she's at home right now, but i'm afraid of what my family will do when authorizing treatment.
they think i'm crazy about lyme and won't listen to me.
it's sad really. i feel for you.
do the best you can and leave the rest to other powers to deal with....
