My 8 year old son was dx w/ lyme summer of 05 after a large migrans rash. He was tx w/ 6 weeks amox and seemed to fully resolve

He had a fully engorged tick bite to the head in Nov. Now he has abdominal pain everyday- often after eating, shin pain at night, reduced appetite, huge emotional swings, and crying for no reason--even he says he doesn't know the reason.

My youngest son age 3 was just tested for parasites in stool (because the cat had them). He also complains of tummy ache. So I'd been telling myself that they may both have worms.

But this morning I suddenly put it all together--the older boy seems very emotional. Our dd is already a Dr. J patient for Babs and he's told us if the other kids are not showing fatigue, they are fine. Now, I'm having doubts.

I'm scared to chase down the lyme, tbd rabbit hole and I'm even more scared not to.

Actually, I was thinking bartonella with the emotional swings

And shin pain.

Talk to your LLMD and see what he thinks.

Hang in there.

Sending you and your family positive thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,

Geneal

Fer sure, have Dr. J take a look at him. Your kid had been infected, then was re-bitten, and now has emotional lability. Kids often have psych symptoms with Lyme. Like you, I would be suspicious.

Does you son have enlarged lymph nodes? His symptoms sound very much like bart, especially if he has been treated for lyme. And especially if you have cats.

For the gastric problems, ask your LLMD to try homeopathic treatment - absinthium being a major help with discomfort, reflux, etc. My daughter's gastric symptoms were among the first to surface, and she was placed on proton pump inhibitors for years, which ultimately made the problem much worse. Homeopathics turned this around and kept it under control.

I am very excited about the new spect scan study coming from the research center because it will prove the impact of lyme/bartonella on the brain, hence behavior. We have seen a direct relationship between behavior changes and infection severity. Our children are in a terrible situation when faced with behavioral change induced by infection. They can't control it but continue to be judged for it.

I hope you are able to get some answers and some help. Keep us posted.
