Can someone please help me understand why Dr J is in trouble or being hunted down. I am looking for a LLMD for my daughter and have a husband who is a little skeptical of a doctor who has such big legal things going on now. I don't doubt that he is an amazing doctor and my LLMD even recommended we spend the money and fly across the country for a quality Dr. But all my LLMD would tell me is that the insurance companies don't like him. Please give me the "brain fog" version for my attention span is only so big right now. Thanks for your support

There are 2 Dr. J's who have been persecuted. Both are outstanding LLMD's.
One is a pediatrician in CT. The other treats adults in SC. He was formerly in NC, but was driven out of the state and forced to close his practice there.
It has nothing to do with the quality of medicine these doctors practice. It has to do with nitpicking and vindictiveness, IMHO.
I would recommend both with no reservations. I personally know people who have been to both and have nothing but good things to say about these caring doctors who have had to put their careers on the line to serve us.
They are not the only LLMD's who have been persecuted, unfortunately.
There are 2 "camps" in the Lyme treatment disagreements. One is the LLMD's who are members of ILADS or subscribe mostly to their treatment and diagnostic protocols.
The other is made up of those who believe the position taken by IDSA, which is very narrow and results in many people being misdiagnosed and undertreated.
You can read more about both of these on this site.

Thanks everyone. I have an LLMD appointment next Friday and will be picking up an Igenex test for my toddler. This will be our first step, I will also call Dr. J and Dr. C's offices to see wait time and their suggestions for us.

Doc J is a wonderful, dedicated doctor. I trust him implicitly and respect him greatly.
My son is slowly getting better under his care. Appointments with Doc J are like a "breath of fresh air" compared to what we have experienced with ducks in the past.
My son was ill for seven years before he was diagnosed by Doc J. No-one could tell us what was wrong with him (he had even been hospitalized once!).
Of course, when the ducks don't know what's wrong, they'll say "it's a virus" or give you a myriad of different diagnoses!! Oh, and there's always the "it's all in his head!"
God bless Doc J! He deserves only the best!!

If you can, go to CT to see Dr. J. We took my granddaughter to see him. She was 3 at the time. I feel as if he saved her life along with our wonderful LLMD in CA. Our LLMD in CA wanted him to see her.
Between Dr. J and DR. H in CA she is a normal almost 6 year old, and is very bright. With so many Lyme children the lights slowly go out and Ducks don't realize why.
Ducks would rather give them drugs to keep their ADD, ADHD and other "problems" in check. It's disgusting.
Thank GOD for our Angel Dr. J, he has kept that light bright in so many children. When he examined our 3 year old for over 2 hours, she didn't even realize she was being examined.
By the time we left there she was calling him Papa. I guess he reminded her of her Papa. He is kind, gentle, loving and THE BEST!!
Don't listen to the media or the other side. If you can, take your child to him, you will never regret it.
HUGS,

Read the link Lymetoo provided. There is a controversy in the medical community about the existence of chronic Lyme and how to treat Lyme.
You want to be informed of the controversy because you will come across resistance from members of the medical community when you explain treatment your daughter is receiving. I wouldn't want your husband to suddenly get concerned because your pediatrician or another doctor says that there is no such thing as chronic Lyme.
There is no one answer as to why the attacks on doctors are happening. The insurance companies have an interest in not allowing a second standard of care because they have to pay for it.
There are researchers and doctors who have money interests connected to patents related to Lyme disease. There are doctors who have ego interests in not having anything contradict their past research.
Dr. J was not investigated because of his ability as a doctor. He was investigated as part of a larger attack on Lyme patients.
