My LLMD has put me on 4 tps of mepron a day. Anyone else doing this much? Are you gaining weight too? I've been totally dependent on Dulcolax for over two months...every 4 days....

I was originally told to take 2 TBSP twice a day - far more than what you are taking! I ended up taking 1 TBSP twice a day because it was so yucky, as did another friend going to the same LLMD.
I had to stop due to psychological problems which developed while on Mepron, & later while trying Malarone.

Mepron caused some depression with me so my LLMD put me on Abilify. I've had one bad break-through day while on Abilify.

Yes, I took two tsp. twice daily for almost 10 months. I had no problems with it.

I am on 1 tsp 2X per day. My LLMD did say that we could increase the dose if I wanted to stay on Doxy since doxy decreases effectiveness.
From the babesia book, there are diminishing returns as you increase the dose.
"Blood levels of Mepron increase readily with only 500 mg per day, and each subsequent increase offers a modest increase in blood level-though less than what would be expected. Doubling the dose does not double the blood level of the drug."
Wow! 2 tablespoons would be incredibly expensive!!! At what I was paying, it would be almost $7,000 per month. Terry

I took 4 doses per day and along with IV and then oral Zithromax plus Artemesia, I got better. :)Took a few months.
