Yesterday I took sublingual TRIVITA B12 cyanocobalamin 1000 mcg which also includes B6 5mg, Folate 400 mcg, Biotin 25 mcg. Within 1 hour, my neurological symptoms were stirred up badly...blurred vision, a massive migraine headache, pain in mid spine, twitching, tremors, feel cold all over etc. I tried it again today and the same thing happened. Can B12 cause a herx with Bartonella? I can't seem to tolerate any supplements, medications...losing all hope...Lisa

I can remember the days when everything I took including new supps effected me. If I gave my body something it needed or was deprived of it seemed to stir up the bad guys.
Those bad guys get angry when you try to strengthen your immune system. It's like they have a brain and know what you are trying to do.
I've being doing sublingual b-12 for over 4 yrs. I can't remember if b-12 specifically effected me. At that time I had started more things than b-12. I also started green drinks too.
I had to eliminate green drinks. They were making me detox too fast. But I've never felt need to drop b-12. I've changed the dosage and type I use and today I do 3000mcg a day, maybe 5 days a week.

Uh, it may be possible? I don't know of malarial organisms are known to cause herx'es, but there is some evidence of anti-malarial activity of cobalamins.
To be honest, I doubt your reaction was a herx from 1mg of cyanocobalamin or any of the other vitamins in this product. I'd imagine it would be far far more likely that the side affects are from the "other ingredients" in this product. Other ingredients: mannitol, sorbitol, alphaketoglutarate, starch glycolate, natural cherry flavor, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate.
Mannitol and sorbitol give me adverse reactions (bad breathe, mental fogginess, etc), probably via feeding bacteria. I avoid them, and that is why I don't bother with most sublingual formulas, because of the sorbitol and flavorings etc. The only sugar alcohol that I don't get those from is xylitol.
Personally I would recommend switching brands of b vitamins. "Jarrow B-Right", (or another brand of co-enzmated b-vits with none of these ingredients) is much cheaper and imo better. It contains co-enzymated b-vitamins and the superior methylcobalamin.

Thats something it could be possible because of the bart being in red blood cells and b12 repairs them.
