I saw this mentioned in another post by bcb1200.
They have a "headache" center. Does anyone know anything about it? I think Steere or Kalish may have been at Tufts or NE Med Ctr, so they may not be "lyme friendly".
No longer want Lyme treatment, time to look for solutions for 7 years of debilitating head pain left by Lyme, Erlichia and Babs.
Anyone?
I bet Tincup would know about this, but I don't know how to reach her.
I am also too computer illiterate to be able to put a link in this post, sorry.
Thanks for any ideas anyone has to offer.

They are mainly dealing with TMJ, dental, facial pain. I went / go to them because my symptoms went down hill after my jaw was adjusted by a Chiro. I thought it was TMJ at first as it can cause ear fullness, tinninitus and balance issues (my main symptoms.) I have a splint from them which is helping the jaw.
Now that I know I have Lyme, I'm a bit confused as I'm not sure if I really have TMJ. I don't clench, luckily. I just had a few sports injury's way back when.
They are a good group that don't take insurance. You can google their website.

Since I am a chiro, I would like to know how you got adjusted ? Any muscle work first ? Hands on or adjusting instruments ?

This was the worst decision I have ever made. I believe in Chiro, but never had a reason to go other than the odd back or neck ache.
I started feeling unwell (due to Lyme) in Feb 2010. By late Feb (4 weeks in) I thought it was due to stress / anxiety. I have friends who swear by Chiro for healing, so I thought it could help me reduce stress and I was also having some GI issues (again to due Lyme & co but I didn't know this at the time.)
So..I went to my local guy who was recommended by friends. He has 30 years experience and knows his stuff, but is very old school. He used his hands on my back, shoulders, and neck. I then asked him to check my jaw as I knew I had injured it 16 years prior in college while playing hockey. Back then it hurt for 2 weeks and then I had headaches for a month, but otherwise have been fine. I only had problems maybe once a year at the dentist when I would feel discomfort. The Chiro confirmed it was out and used his activator (?) to push on the back of the right side and the front of the left. OUCH!!
Other than a sore jaw and a runny nose (which randomly started after the Chiro), I felt great the next 4 days...better than I had in a month.
Went back for my second adjustment 4 days later and said my jaw was still hurting. He said it was still out and adusted it the same way again along with the same neck, back, and shoulder adjustments. I came out of that visit VERY dizzy. It was more of a full time dizziness. I panicked and thought I had a stroke. Nope.
10 days later my ears started to feel very full (in fairness, my right one felt full before going to the chiro) and 4 days after that, they started to ring. I panicked again thinking menieres. Then did research and found out about TMJ which can cause headaches, dizziness, weird vision, ringing, ear fullness, etc. A lot of my symptoms. So went to tufts.
Today..I see 2 different Chiros. A new one who is very good at muscles who basically verifies that my splints are keeping the jaw balanced so it can heal. And I see an A/O guy who keeps my C1/C2 aligned. I don't like the neck crack.
In hind sight, knowing what I do about TMJ, I should have never gotten it adjusted. Using an activator, IMHO, is to extreme and it potentially opened up pandora's box. My jaw STILL doesn't feel right (although is much better) and it is 3 months later.
I am still confused as to why I walked into the Chiro feeling good on my second visit and walked out feeling like this. The hypothesis today is the Chiro adjustments to neck, jaw, etc "squished" some lyme into my ear canals / vestibular system which caused Labyrinthitis and my spiral down hill. Had this not happened, I probably would have been delayed in getting my Lyme diagnosis. But at the same time I'm worried my jaw is now screwed up. My bite seems off a bit even though the joints are supposedly now in the right place. The only thing I can think of is I had dental work done with the jaw out of alignment. Now that it is correctly hanging...the dental work is not correct.
Sigh. more money needed.
My only concern with Lyme is I can't tell if my ear symptoms are Lyme related or TMJ related. or is my TMJ pain / discomfort really TMJ or just made worse because of Lyme?
Sorry this is so long.
