me, i was politicking today; met Sen. Chris Dodd at a town hall meeting and took a sign i made up:

LYME/TICK PATIENTS
THANK YOU CHRIS
FOR HR 3427 LYME BILL!

when he got done speaking and it was time for questions, i held up my sign since i was the first one there and in front row!

Said, I didn't know you had lyme disease. mentioned how he got involved in the writing of our lyme bill. He and wife, Jackie, bought a country school house and made it as their home right next LYME, CONN. So folks came to him telling him their experiences, and he took it from there.

FORGOT TO MENTION LAST NIGHT:

Chris mentioned to the audience that when we go to doctors for diagnosis, etc., the normal response given to us "it's ALL IN YOUR HEADS!"
********************************************

yOU SHOULD HAVE HEARD THE CROWD'S GASPS/ OH !! They thought it was horrible! Yea Chris!!

Chris mentioned about lyme being in Iowa, and I said yes, we are no. 15 out 50 states with it. We had 98 cases last year out of 37 counties; this year so far it's almost 50 cases reported.

I thanked him on behalf of millions of chronic lyme patients nationwide, and he was all smiles!

I asked what the chances are this year for getting HR passed by the full house; HE THOUGHT THEY WERE EXCELLENT TO PASS THIS YEAR!

I then commented about Bush's chronic lyme disease and how the media has NOT said much about it when the symptoms are definitely showing, and he wasn't cured last year.

He laughed saying Buch's behavior ..... i can't remember what he said but stated, "SINCE THIS IS BEING RECORDED AND WILL BE AIRED NATIONWIDE ON MY LYME SITE TONIGHT, IT'S BEST FOR ME NOT TO SAY ANYTHING MORE ABOUT THAT!" end of our lyme talk!

if anyone is interested you can go to,

www.chrisdodd.com and look for today's 8-14-07 BOONE, IOWA live interview. chris talks 30 minutes, then it's Q/A .... I'M FIRST ONE TALKING FROM AUDIENCE! they didn't get my sign or me ... i've not seen it yet. camera man was hoping to get it up tonight after their 3rd live town hall meeting.

so yes, my day was productive, and i did get his autograph! [Wink] [bonk]

http://chrisdodd.com/node/2126

this will take you directly to Q/A session, and i'm at the VERY beginning of it .... lyme talk! listening to it as i type this.

i have DIAL-UP; TAKING FOREVER; so i just leave the voice going as he talks every 3-5 seconds; nothing; more talking.

so i just keep working away on here and don't care about visual photo .... just listening!

it's a very interesting discussion of lyme and how he became involved! don't remember a lot of it myself until i hear it again now!! [Wink]

edited: just listened to myself! for those with dial-up, i just learned something. let it go until they get to the next person asking question.

then use your mouse to move it back to beginning and it plays NON-STOP for 4 minutes of this LIVE interview! who says you can't teach an old dog, new tricks? lol [lol]

I imagine each minute we are on lymenet that some charges are made and someone pays money for us having this helpful site .

QUESTION: I am not sure, others may know, though, if we go to a link for any amount of time if we should get off lymenet and come back to it when we are finished with the link.

keebler, i do NOT know the answer to your question about how lymenet is charged! [confused]

I suggest you find a post by LOU B, adminstrator, who is on medical leave due to a very severe heart attack 12-06 at the top of 1 of these posts, and put your question there for him to answer as he is up to it. he was on vacation recently and should be returning soon...

TO YOU ALL, thanks for your lovely words! [kiss]

YES, I WAS TRYING TO REPRESENT ALL US CHRONIC LYME PATIENTS WELL AND EXPRESSING OUR GRATITUDE FOR ALL HIS EFFORTS TO HELP EACH ONE OF YOU! [Wink]

Thanks Betty! That's great. I especially love how you got in the part about Bush's obvious symptoms, without sounding partisan.

Hi All,

I could just cry, because I feel some relief that finally what has been so important is beginning to be addressed. Thank you so much for being there in that front row, Betty G.

thank you ladies very much!

yes, i loved how he gave his background where he lived next to LYME, CONN. and they came to him, and how compassionate he was when docs called us all hypocondriacs!!

today, i went and heard john edwards speak to crowd of 400-500! i had my hand up but wasn't called. BUT for those whose questions weren't asked, john said to go to his campaign and send him his questions noting we were in ames, iowa.

HE WILL PERSONALLY REPLY TO THOSE QUESTIONS ASKED! so that's on my to do list when i come back on here tonight of in am! can't let an opportunity like that slip by.

so if you have specific things about LYME disease, i'll address it to john when i send him my email of questions, etc. this offer goes to MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, 8-16.

since no one responded, i'll wait one for night.

do you have any QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR LYME COSTS, ETC. YOU WANT JOHN EDWARD TO ADDRESS? [confused]

* majority of us our health providers will NOT pay anything towards our lyme appts., treatments, etc.

* my llmd OPTED OUT OF MEDICARE, but in my personal opinion, that should NOT affect our 2nd health provider; example, bcbs!

* taking years to be approved for SSDI, etc.

these are the things off the top of my head right now, and i plan on telling him my shortened lyme story before asking my questions. Betty [Wink]

fyi, I did follow up and emailed John Edwards about lyme disease; he said he's PERSONALLY answer all questions from IOWANS since we are the ones who gave him the opportunity to keep running in other states where Chris Dodd and Joe Bidden didn't get the votes, and had to drop out on 1st state! [Frown]

Got a reply mentioned nothing about lyme! [Frown]
