I never had one,,,but my sister did. Think she got some special pads with a hole in them for relief.
All the docs 'want' to do surgery but I guess it is treatable without for a LONG time. Surgery has the tendancy to make it WORSE!! Cause of scar tissue etc.
Hope you get better advice than MINE!!! I have tons of bone spurs,,just NOT on the heel YET!!!IB--just don--

yes, I have these on both heels plus plantar fascish, sp; pain in the feet plus.
what rheumatologist/feet dr. recommend is this mainly:
** if you have a frozen ice pack use them OR ice cubs rolled up good in a towel.
*** roll your heel over this for 5 minutes; repeat later on
think there was some stretching exercise too but just can NOT remember anymore.
I've these suckers for 10-15 years now. It does get much better; they act up whenever they chose too.
best wishes to your wife tree!
i also have some special cushions, blue with a little circle of GEL in middle that I wear in my shoes; it does help; got at drs. office.

Hi tree,
I've had bone spurs and plantar fasciitis off & on for several years. It can be very debilitating. I hope she doesn't have it in both feet.
Good heel cups are essential.
A night splint that keeps your ankle flexed is also very helpful, if not essential. You can buy one at most thrift stores or through eBay.
Avoid ice because Dr. Burrascano says so...I've read that ice promotes the grow of Bb.
Always wear shoes; never go barefooted.
Wear good quality shoes with thick cushioned heels. I like Clarks and plain Saucony shoes for women. eBay is a good source if you don't feel like shopping. Go to a shoe store & try them on to check your size first.
