I've been on treatment for going on 9 months. I know that isn't that long, but I'm kind of getting frustrated that I haven't seen much progress.
I actually am going through a really bad herx right now, so I guess that's a good thing. It's weird because I've never been bothered by flagyl. I've taken 1,000 mg. and it did nothing to me, which my llmd said was not usually the case for most people. Well I was off of it for a month and just started back about a week ago. Whoa! I feel so bad.
I'm thinking I could have co-infections.
When I was first diagnosed my doctor did blood work to test my cd57. It was 174.
I was on Malarone for 2 months (from August to October). I didn't see any improvement at all.
Maybe I have bart?
My symptoms are:
lightheadedness feeling like I'm going to faint achiness/pain all over my body especially my back shooting pains sometimes heart palps occasional uneasiness feeling in my chest air hunger (very seldom, but sometimes) extreme fatigue stiffness in my fingers
What do you think?
Thanks for any input. I'm just very fed up with this disease as I'm sure all of you are.

Hi Lauren,
Yes, I agree with you 9 months isn't that long, but I sure understand your frustration. Seems like any other infection and you'd be done by now. It takes so long with Lyme and confections.
Sometimes it take a while to find the right abx combo for you. What works for one person may not work for another.
It is very difficult to tell what symptoms are from what disease. I still get confused sometimes about it all. Many people say their anxiety was from Bart but for me my mine was from Babesia..but who knows for sure? Most of the time we end up taking more than one abx together, so we could be hitting more than one infection.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but you are not alone.

So nice to see Beverly!!!
Lauren...
Like Beverly said.. it is very hard to sort out all the possible KNOWN infections. And how many may we have that haven't been discovered yet? The list could be endless!
I'm sorry that wasn't encouraging, was it! Shame on me!
But what I am trying to say is we can't tell what will work and what won't for each person due to many factors... including the infections themselves. How I wish we could.
I am NOT a doctor.. but reviewing the symptoms you listed makes me think Babesiosis and Lyme. I know you took Malerone.. which does work for some folks.. although not for all folks.
Again, I wouldn't bet the farm that it is the Babs... but it kinda looks like it could be.. going by what you shared here.
Maybe look at the symptoms list you have... then adjust it again after the herx you are having? That may give you a better picture of what is going on.
Sorry you are herxing over the holiday. It isn't fair.. is it?
I hope you will get a break and feel better for the bunny.
I know... it is very confusing. Good idea Tincup about waiting til I'm done with the herx and then see what symptoms I have.
I have a dr.'s appointment in 3 weeks so I'll discuss this all with him.
I just like to get everyone's advice since ya'll have such good input.
I did take Malarone, but I'm wondering if I took it with enough fat. Most of the time I would just take it with a little milk. That might not of been enough. I heard icecream was good to take with Malarone./
Anyway, thanks for the input.
