Klonopin used to help. I'm not sure if it would help me now - I cold-turkeyed it.
I do not ever feel rested after sleep, and it seems 3 to 4 hours is the maximum I can sleep at one time on a "good" night.
It's the wireless boom. 24/7 I'm being nuked.

Xanax is the only thing that helps my Bart herxing.
If you're treating Bart, you need to up your xanax dose and probably get on an anti-depressant.
I'm on Luvox and it's a very calming anti-depressant unlike Prozac which is kind of an upper.
Zoloft is good, too but Luvox seems to hit my Bart spot.
Remember, these are only band-aids to get you through this illness...you won't need to rely on them when you kill the infection so shame and fears of addictions should be put on back burner.
You need every crutch you can because these Bart herxes are the most hellish herxes I've ever experienced...and I've been through Lyme.

Ditto what Clarissa said.....anxiety from bart is worse than terrible.
I'm on Lexapro and a very occasional Klonopin for it. Treating the infection has really helped the problem. I plan to quit when the bart is gone.

My plan is the same as the ones above. It's a drug to help me through the rough times of treatment. I won't need it after the infection is gone. (Praying that it's gone soon!)
It really has helped me calm down. I do have a few moments here and there, but it has impacted me in a positive way.
I notice that I'm starting to see a little bit of my old self. I thought I was lost forever.

I believe my anxiety this summer was caused by Lyme. Zoloft helped a lot. I was also given Ativan to take at bedtime if I needed it. Once the Zoloft kicked in (3 weeks) didn't need Ativan.
I believe there is a time when anti-anxiety meds are warranted for a few months. Quality of life is key to healing; you can't get better if you're in a constant state of anxiety.

Well, I've been on Klonopin going I think a little over two years now. I just had to take a half which is very early for me.
I take a half every day, cause I have anxiety every day. I have not gone up on the dose for this whole time and I think that's the key.
My older Sister is on all kinds of things and on heavy doses! I think the last time I spoke with here she was on something like 50mg of Paxil and 25 mg of Klonopin!
I have tried to get my whole family to get tested for Lyme but they just won't listen. Maybe they are scared, I just can't figure it out.
I finally did get my younger Sister to test, no results yet but if it comes back positive, maybe I can get the rest of them to follow suit.
I sure hope so, but where was I?
Oh yeah! Take what you have to when you have to and don't worry about it.

I don't know if it's lyme or co-infections or both, but anxiety is one of my worst symptoms.
If you guys find anything that works please pass it on. Thanks.

I have had anxiety issues for quite a while from TBD's, and have greatly improved in this regard since starting treatment for late-stage lyme in the summer of 2006.
Two things have helped me to cope with anxiety and to get better: abx treatment for the last 18 months, and weekly therapy sessions, started a couple of months ago.
The antibiotics that have helped the most were: 400mg/day doxy; and the last six months of bicillin, minocycline and plaquenil.
And its been great to have a sympathetic therapist listen and help me sort out all these issues of illness, wellness, and challenges and complications caused by TBDs and their impact on family, friends and work.
