I know there is probably something already on one of the Cowden threads, but I am too tired to look it up. Has anyone had fevers emerge with the herxing brought on by the this protocol? My daughter has run a low temp. ever since getting sick 5 years ago; but since starting Cowden, she has been having fevers ( going from a 97.6 normal to 99-100). She has also had the worst herxing ever.
Any words of wisdom?

My Cowden directions say to stop taking some of the herbs and take more parsley/burbur to help with detoxing. That's all I can think of ... just more detoxing and lots of water.
Maybe she needs to cut back on some of the harsher herbs for a while (samento and cumanda), as they're hard on some of us.

She stopped Cumanda a few days ago, hasn't even gotten to Samento yet. She had worked up to 17 drops of Cumanda when she crashed. She tried cutting back, then stopped altogether. She has been loading up on Burbur but just doesn't seem to be rallying.
It just seems to be taking a long time to get it all out of her system.

17 drops of Cumanda is a POWERFUL dose. It may have been too much of a ramp up. Some people cannot tolerate that much for awhile.

Cumanda is very strong stuff. I tried to get it up to 10 drops but it was way too much. My doctor said it's OK to go slow & take it for up to 6 months before going onto the other herbs. I can only tolerate about 5 drops, twice a day. I stop if I have menstrual cramps or anything else going on.
Some people have a hard time detoxing when the spirochetes die off. You may need to have her take something to absorb the toxins. Some people use zeolites, chitosan, chlorella, chlorestramine, saunas, etc. I've recently heard that you can use a product to replace the lipids called NT Factor. I don't know if it works.
I'm still in alot of pain. I think it just takes time. I'd rather use the herbs than the abx, though.

I just read the description of Cumanda and discovered that it is anti- viral and fungal as well as microbial. I'm thinking that the fevers are from the stirring up of the viruses.
I just expected her to be improving now, after stopping the Cumanda a few days ago. This morning, she can't even make a fist - her hands are so swollen.
Thanks to each of you for your response. We've been at this for nearly 5 years, have been on nearly every abx, taken many alternative paths, given advice to countless others, and have had to continue to seek advice from those of you on the front lines with us. I don't know how anyone gets through this alone. Bless you!
I envision the day when a cure is found, and we can gather online and maybe even virtually, to celebrate the greatest of victories!
