Does anyone have any other explanations for this phenomenon besides Dr.B's Bartonella-Like Organism (BLO)?
The LLMD that I've gone to for IV told me that "sometimes people experience a symptom flare after coming off the IV".
This makes no sense to me with relation to Bb. How can you get a symptom flare if the Bb has been eradicated by the IV?
Bb is a slow-replicating bacteria.
Would it be rebound inflammation? IDSA says Rocephin has anti-inflammatory properties. Is it possible that you could have rebound inflammation similar to with NSAIDs?
I want to bring up the BLO at my next office visit & I want to know what other possibilities for answers there are beforehand.
Thanks!
Ali

I WAS on orals! (Omnicef)
I had a horrendous flare anyway.
I wonder if Doxy will keep the BLO down also. That was the only oral that gave me any benefit at all. My symptoms have clobbered me on any other oral ABX that we've tried. (Amoxicillin, Azithromycin, Suprax, Omnicef)
I have to review the BLO info again & see if he mentions which ABX besides Rocephin can keep it down without eliminating it. I know that only the floroquinolones (pref Levaquin) should eradicate it.

Hmmmm....
Do you think that could happen because the Omnicef had less BBB penetration than the IV Rocephin?
Then why would he switch me to 250mg/day of Zithromax? I don't think I was misbehaving or anything.
