Minocycline can cause dizziness. A herx can also cause dizziness. As far as the fever, I don't think a fever is a direct side-effect of mino. Fever is an indication of your immune system responding to infection or toxins.

some researchers list minocycline as ototoxic and toxic to the vestibular system.
Some find taking B6 helps.
I have to rest a bit but will come back and post links and abstracts.
In the meantime, you can search on PubMed at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi cross search minocycline with ototoxic, ototoxicity and vestibular (meaning inner ear/balance).
also searching: " minocycline, B6, autistic "might bring up a new study underway intended to aleviate the vertigo. There is no mention in that literature, however, of it is counters toxic effects on the ear hair cells.
You can also do these same combination searches on Google.
It is also perplexing to me that some people seem to do find on mino and others' ears are devastated by it. As for myself, the severe vertigo and high tinnitus have pushed me away from this.
Ask your doctor if s/he has any suggestions. IMO just taking something to counteract the vertigo (ginger or whatever) might help, but if ototoxic stuff is going on that may not at all protect the ears. Protection is what you are after at this point.
Also, many abx make ears more susbseptable - sp? - to damage from noise. Earbuds can damage. Ear plugs when running the vacuum, even hairdryer . . .
