Can anyone give me some feedback on which is usually treated first?
Bartonella or Babs?
I know the rule is treat the co-infecetions fist before the lyme.
Can Bart and Babs be treated at the same time?
I have heard Babs first as the other stuff hydes out in Babs.
But doesn't Bart replicate faster and it is more serious in many ways then Babs?
Any feed back would be great.

Hi StacyB,
You know, in Lymeland, when we say that every patient is different?
That's especially true regarding co-infections.
The LLMDs differ in their approach. There are reasons to treat Lyme first, because if the germ load is really high, by signs and symptoms, then for some, getting the Lyme germ load down is best. That way a patient can tolerate herxes better.
Or pre-existing conditions could dictate.
There are a lot of concerns and each patient gets the best mix of treatment their LLMD knows how.

I would agree with Daise.....but after knocking down the lyme load, I have heard one should go after the babs before bart. There are protocols to go after more than one infection. It depends on your llmd.
What I am hearing from friends in my area is that bart is turning out to be a hidden, nasty culprit for many who are not getting well.

Hi,
I've made wonderful improvements on Lyme meds.
Bart apparently caused a bad bone infarct in my femur: the immune system there is dead. I'm in the middle of treatment for bart.
For me, bart is causing more problems--at the moment--than babs.
I gather from most of the postreplies that it depends on the LLMD and which symptoms are most prevelant to indicate how to treat first.

Yes, totally subjective depending on LLMD, symptoms, what tests reveal positives, clinical symptoms, etc.
My particular order of treatment: Lyme, Bart, now Bart and Babs simultaneously. Ehrlichia negative.
Just make a plan to eventually attack them all! No stone unturned kind of thing.
