Did anyone ever hear what the Tennessee Governor had? Was it Lyme?

Not that we or he will ever know.. as he went to the HOLD THE MAYO Clinic! But thought I'd ask. Is he doing better?

Hey TC. Yes, he is doing better, although sometimes when I see him on TV I do wonder how well he truly is.

I don't think they were ever positive (at least didn't announce it) exactly what he had. It was just described as an illness from a tick bite. Nothing specific.

Interestingly, his illness did cause the Governor to implement legislation in the event the Governor is incapacitated.

boomer, that was quite the initiative to take action on a bill on who was in charge if/when he becomes incapacitated! that alone speaks volume to the seriousness of lyme effecting our politician's mind and decisions made! thanks for the update. [group hug] [kiss]

It's great that the governor of Tenn and the president of the USA, both recovered after having symptoms of a vector borne illness.

Both of them must have been in that 80%-90% group that takes abx, recovers and goes on with their lives. They are both blessed. I wonder if they know how blessed they are??????

Of course they wouldn't know? Unless they have a loved one or close friend that has suffered and lived to tell their story on lyme & company. You know that other 10-20% that go chronic for some unknown reason????

If they have recovered, it is because they were caught early and not made to "prove" they had lyme disease. The TN gov never even had a positive test. Just think how many of us have been refused treatment because of a negative test, or even a positive test and big ole bullseye rash.

I think the Governor's particular illness hit him very early......and so he received treatment quickly.

I am not sure about the governor, but it doesn't seem to me

That our President is "cured" from Lyme.

He can't find words, can't order them correctly.

Basically, everytime he speaks, I think....

Yeah, he still has Lyme.

Just my very humble opinion. [Big Grin]

Also I am sure the President has been bit by more than one tick

Whether at Camp David or Texas, in his lifetime.

It wouldn't suprise me in the least if he was chronic.

My LLMD was actually called to the White House prior to the release of

The news about the President. He didn't speak with the president,

But the aides sure did grill him about Lyme and/or co-infections for a long time.

Hugs,

Geneal

He sure did Bettyg.

I was super impressed. I thought if his work in the area

Of Tick Borne Diseases is good enough for the President,

Then my family must be in good hands.

I adore him anyways. [Smile]

Hugs,

Geneal

Well the governor of Tenn is nobody special. I too received abx as soon as the suspicious illness from hell started. The only thing my doctor and I missed prior to everything falling apart was about 6 mths of knee and hand sx.

Those sx came and went, anyway they were not anything that I couldn't deal with. I wasn't a weeny. So I went on with life.

If the governor was lucky enough to get the flu-like illness from hell first and got abx very early on, he very well could be one of the lucky guys. If not, this political man might start seeing somethings in his life & health fall apart bit by bit.

As far as GW he has probably already had a lifetime of little things going on in him and his family life and health for years. After all, I believe it takes a miracle to live on a ranch and do what ranchers do and not have some TBD is your system.

Same with Ronald Reagan. He lead a life that put him in the high percentage of possible lyme & company infections for many years. Pres. Reagan was a speaker. GW has never found (with a few exceptions) himself confortable with speeches.

So nobody knows what the future holds for the governor of Tenn or GW. We all know what President Reagan's future held. Well, we know as much as were allowed to know????????

I wouldn't wish this illness on my worst enemy (most days). But I just keep hoping and praying that someday soon the truth is going to be out there. I pray it's before governor, GW or myself and you guys are dead and gone from some illness such as ALS, MS, Alzhelmer's, Heart Disease, Breast Cancer, Cancer!!!!!!

Pam
