Hi
I think I still have Bart hanging in there...have bad brain fog, tiny pimples on upper body, red stretch marks, imbalance, nausea at times.

However the one time I took Rifampin a couple of days later I had a funny turn - cold sweat, nausea, feeling like I was going to pass out. I did continue it for 10 days but felt more and more fatigued and run down so my LLMD stopped it.

So my questions is - has anyone else felt horrible whilst taking Rifampin at first then felt improvements later?

Wondering if I should ask to re-try this

thanks
Emma

when i first started rifampin, i was pulsing it M-F with zithro on sat, sun. I would feel bad when i first start it on mon and tues, but the symptoms were:

i had burning pain in all my muscles, flu-like achy feeling. i took motrin for it and it helped. it would start to go away by wed, and be gone thur and fri.

then the symptoms would start again on mondaywhen I went back on it, but not be as bad as the last time.

the zithro was giving me headaches so now i am on the rifampin all the time. i tolerate it well

First 2 months were pretty hellish...clearings started coming in 3rd month.

I alternated days btwn Rifampin & Zithro.

I'm in 4th month now and things are MUCH better.

Best Wishes,

Hi

thanks everyone...maybe I should ask to re-try it as I do not tolerate the fluroquinolones very well.

Just Don...I am not sure if it was a herx or not, Dr B was my LLMD at the time and he advised stopping it. I am trying to figure out if, had I continued things would have improved. I was so fatigued and run down on it.
