Are there any abx that are known to fight babesia or bartonella for certain, or are they all just hypotheses that some times work?

if you know of any specific ones for either, please note them. I heard that mepron fights babesia..is that true? I also heard that Zith and malarone fight it? For bartonella I heard that Doxy at high doses works sometimes?

The usual combo for babesia is mepron/zith or mepron/biaxin...or malarone

With zith or biaxin. Sometimes Bactrim DS is throw in there too.

I am stretching to remember for bartonella. Rifampin or levaquin or even cipro

With (I think) zithromax or biaxin.

Doxy did not clear bartonella for me.

I know there are more drug combo's. This is just what I've been on

For babesia and bartonella.

Hugs,

Geneal

I've taken Mepron/Biaxin/Art and Malarone/Lariam/Art for babesia. I took other stuff at the same time to treat other bugs.

I took Levaquin (with Mino, Malarone/Lariam/Art, and Tindamax) for Bartonella. Cipro and Rifampin are also for bart.

I was just talking to my LLMD about this some. I have taken Levaquin in the past for Bart. Now I am on Zith. LLMDS says Zith can target Bart also.
I have taken Malarone and Biaxin for Babesia in the past.

He just put me on Bactrim DS. Says it can target both Bart and Babs, but the intention in my case is Bart to help with the Zith (which doesn't seem to be cutting it for me right now with the Bart symptoms).

There really is no specific med for bart or babs. That's because we're all different. There are different types of bart. And different strains of bart and babs. Very complicated. Lyme has a hundred strains, just in the U.S.

Which meds will help you? What you are prescribed is a mix of what your LLMD, who should also an ILADS doctor, believes is probably best for you.
