I started amoxicillin 4 days ago and now just started zithromax. The first day taking amoxicillin my throat felt swollen, as if half of it closed. It went away within a few hours. I just added in my first dose of zith and the throat swelling feeling is back. I dont know if anyone can help me explain this, but it sure is scary when your throat feels like its closing on you.

Throat swelling can be a life threatening allergic reaction called anaphylactic shock so please call your LLMD and let them know that this is happening.
That said, many of us have the throat swelling problem. Mine comes and goes but has gotten much better with lyme treatment.

Please contact your LLMD ASAP! If it is an allergic reaction, it can turn deadly very quickly.
You can possibly get a prescription for an Epi Pen, which is an injection you give yourself if you have an allergic reaction that results in your throat closing so much you can't breathe.
