I was on my feet all day for many days in a row and I notice my feet are getting sore again.
BUT worse than that my ingrown toenail on BOTH feet,,, is back bothering me,,,and I realize,,its the outside of the fourth toe on BOTH feet.
Seems my fourth toe is TOO long compared to little and third toe and it sticks out and gets pinched in both shoes!!
Every little mis step and I roll my foot on uneven ground makes them hurt like blue blazes immediately!!
I guess I need those clown shoes that are a foot longer than necessary.
Problem is I buy the largest size available in the stores around and they get a bit older and foot slips down inside too far again and whamo, same toe problem.
What is the largest size you saw in ANY shoe store?? Cant special order shoes cause they never fit. I remember when I wore 2 full sizes 'smaller',,,in whole numbers,,,do feet grow with OLD age??or with lyme/bart??
I already get the EEE size width so THAT isnt any help!!
ANY suggestions on footwear I can actually stand to wear??My feet at so flat it isnt even funny,,,and they hurt all the time while ON them!!
Okay a poll of sorts,,,do YOU or anyone else YOU know have fourth toes that are longer than it should be?? Also my second toe is slightly longer than my big toe,,,is that normal??
No wonder people consider me WEIRD!!!like--just don--

Both my son's are 6'3" tall. they both wear size 14 shoes. they are still teenagers.
I have shopped all over the place here in CA. I also did not want to order shoes from somewhere before they could be tried on, since from brand to brand, the size can vary from shoe to shoe. One of my son's can actually wear some shoes in a size 13, but I never know what type shoe that will actually be, since it varies.
I did find that JC Penney's stocks size 13-15 SOCKS. Yes, socks in this size range are very difficult to find. Sear's does not stock a larger size sock, but Penney's always has them, I think the brand is "Gold Toe".
You may want to consider buying a larger sock, since this also does affect how your feet feel at the end of the day. I speak from experience, as after I had my 2nd son, my feet grew to a size 10, and never went back. I started off adult life as a size 8-1/2, too! I had to also find larger size socks, since women's brands tended to normally only go to size 9's.
Good luck, those larger shoes (after size 13) are hard to find. Oh, and yes, longer 2nd toes are not "abnormal" ! Very common, in fact!

don, my late dad had EEE width feet as well. i remember one Christmas ordering from penneys catalog, and had to take them back and forth 5-6 times before they finally fit since he was in the nursing home.
socks ... don, have you tried the NEW diabetis socks; they don't have tight ribbing on top; messlike, and loser fit at top of toes. don't know if that would help, but i love socks for myself! good luck to you!

Sounds like you need orthotics. They can go a long way in reducing/eliminating foot pain. They even help with back pain. They are expensive but last for 15 or 20 years.

Don,
Could this be some kind of fungal infection?
Try a drop of teatree oil on each infected toe.
My husband had a bad infected finger. He soaked it in epsom salt water and followed that with a drop of teatree oil. It cleared up in days.

Try Earth Shoes. They have lots of toe room, and are very comfortable. Something about their angle reduces stress on you back and joints. They are pretty expensive, but they will last for years. Here is their Website:

Please note that these are not the same shoes named Earth that they sell at Wal-Mart.

Just checking in to see how you are doing today.
I looked at the web site for EArth shoes.
Didn't really see any good working shoes for you.
But, then again, I could have missed them.
It would be great if they had something that would help.
I know shoes make a big difference.

Today was virtually a day off,,,I shouldnt have but was SOO Tired,,,and my feet hurt so bad.

15 miles douth of me had NONE. I spect I have 2-3 inches on the ground, plus the rain, plus what melted and it would come close to west of here.
They say its gonna keep going till maybe Saturday,,,IF that is true we MAY get the 12" they predicted as maybe,,,and we COULD get 18-24" too,,,spring snow storms are so unpredictable!!
Looked on tha web site,,,wow are those shoes pricey!! Are they THAT good??? Wish I had a credit card to be able to order!!
Hope everyone had a GOOD day today!!hopeful--just don--
