Awhile back, I woke up feeling like something was pinching the inside of my arm.

I looked and there was a little red bite there.

It went away after a few days.

but, the strange thing is it keeps popping up now and then.

Same thing, I know it is there due to the pinching feeling.

Have a telephone consult wtih lyme doc Monday. Not sure whether to bring this up or not.

I did ignore the littel red bite with the ring around it too. Thought it was just a spider bite and hoped that if I was going to get sick it would wait until the weekend as I had a lot going on at work.

WRONG. Now, I know differently.

So, wondering about this little red bed bug type of bite. It does leave a little scar when it goes back down.

Strange ..huh??

Kam,

I don't know if it's exactly the same thing, but my husband experiences something very similar. He gets bumps that look like a raised insect bite. They can come on suddenly, and sometimes he will wince, as though he has been bitten or stung.

Sometimes you can almost see them coming up before your eyes. And they do leave a scar when they recede. Sometimes they come up singly, and sometimes in patches.

This has been a longstanding symptom, and I can't figure out if it's Lyme, bart, babs, or something else. The treatments that have brought relief are:

Malarone
Rifampin
Cat's Claw
artemisin gel
peppermint enzyme solution (made by Safe Solutions)

Not all at once, of course :-)

It's much better than it used to be, but it hasn't gone away by any means.

I would bring it up with your LLMD, but don't necessarily expect an answer. Our current LLMD can only say, "Borrelia loves the skin."

Please keep us posted. Hope others who have had similar "bumps" will reply as well...

Viva

I used to get the red bumps as well before abx and lots of them. They can look like mosquito bites and even bed bug bites. Pretty nasty i use to also get little (tiny) strawberry coloured markings beside the red bumps.

My llmd believes i have borrelia, bart and ehrlicia per tests done and symptoms are very bart like. I personally believe bart causes it but nobody knows. I no longer get it since being on 8 months of abx. Which is a relief because the strawberry markings are permanent although they are extremely small some only specs.

Would be also interested to hear if many people get the strawberry coloured markings they almost look like small pen marks

I got the tiny red bite marks that looked like flea bites that left scars. I also got hives. My doctor at the time believed it was due to my Mycoplasma infection.
